Most people first encountered Lady Gaga when “Just Dance,” her first single, became a huge hit in 2008. In truth, Lady Gaga was in the entertainment world before that with minor television roles before her music career catapulted her to superstardom.
What shows did Lady Gaga appear on? What other projects has she worked on since?
The Sopranos
The show took a fresh approach to the mobster trope by presenting a look at the life of Mafia boss Tony Soprano. The audience explored his world from his point of view and through his conversations with his psychotherapist.
As we watch Tony running his crime syndicate, spending time with his family, and in therapy, we get some of the best moments on television. There are scenes that show the love Tony has for his family and friends. Other scenes offer moments of pure dark comedic genius.
Tony’s personal life is framed by the dark world of the mafia. The show spares no one’s sensibilities when it comes to depicting aggression, depravity, and violence.
The award-winning singer and songwriter returned to television in a big way in 2015. Lady Gaga took on the role of The Countess in the fifth season of the hit show American Horror Story.
Elizabeth “The Countess” was a central character in American Horror Story: Hotel and appeared in every episode as the owner of the Hotel Cortez. At 112 years-old, The Countess carried a vaguely defined blood virus that required a regular diet of blood and sex to maintain.

When Ariana Grande got her face scratched by Lady Gaga, she reacted like any super fan would. In an Instagram post Thursday, Gaga shared some behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the music video for "Rain on Me," her pop duet with Grande. In one clip, Gaga accidentally scratches Grande's eye while waving her arms during a dance rehearsal. http://instagram.com/p/CDjb45uA51d "Richard, I shanked her with my nail by accident, dancing," Gaga said of the incident. Lucky for her, Grande was more than OK with it. "Lady Gaga scratched my eye," Grande said while lying on the floor, appearing to marvel at her injury on her phone's front-facing camera. "It's an honor. I hope it scars." http://instagram.com/p/CDhzLcogmcA She added: "Lady Gaga! You scratched me eye!" "You scratched my heart," replied Gaga. "I hope it stays there forever," said Grande. And Grande didn't seem to be kidding. When Gaga offered her Neosporin, Grande wasn't having it. Gaga had to resort to lovingly wrestling Grande into accepting the medicine. "You have a scratch on your face! You can't get infected before the video!" Gaga called out to Grande as she ran away. "Please let me put some Neosporin on it!" Gaga added, chasing after her.

Ariana Grande took a break from rehearsing for what can only be the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday (Aug. 24) to share a behind-the-scenes look with her followers on social media. "Greetings," the superstar captioned a selfie featuring her looking straight into the camera while wearing a bejeweled face mask and dual high ponytails. In two more posts -- one on her Instagram Stories -- Grande also shows off the black-and-gray athleisure look and white platform boots that complete her rehearsal look. http://instagram.com/p/CESfCBBFWjL One week ago, the pop singer confirmed in a whimsical video that she would be joining Lady Gaga on the VMAs stage to perform their hit "Rain On Me." Featured as the second single on the latter's Chromatica, the instant dance-pop classic debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release earlier this summer. The exuberant track became Grande's second No. 1 in just three weeks (following "Stuck With U," her quarantine-inspired collab with Justin Bieber), as well as the second in a string of all-female duets topping the charts this summer, including Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj's "Say So" remix, Megan Thee Stallion & Beyoncé's "Savage" remix and Cardi B's "WAP," also featuring Stallion. http://instagram.com/p/CESfG-RFIVo Thanks in part to "Rain On Me," Grande and Gaga also hold the distinction of leading this year's pack of VMA nominations, with nine each including video of the year, song of the year and best collaboration.

Lady Gaga is prepping for her big performance at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. The 34-year-old Grammy winner, who will take the stage at Sunday's VMAs alongside Ariana Grande for the world-premiere performance of their anthem "Rain on Me," took an ice-cold dip in a steel bathtub in a photo she shared to Instagram on Tuesday. In the snap, Gaga, with her blonde hair up in a ponytail, posed with her hands throwing the "rock on" gesture while wearing a blue face mask as she laid in the chilly water. http://instagram.com/p/CEVdVF3Meiu "❄️. #vmas," she captioned the photo. http://instagram.com/p/CEQjCeclRia Gaga's performance at the VMAs will mark her first at the star-studded event since 2013 when she opened the show with a colorful rendition of her song, "Applause," from her ARTPOP album. Grande, 27, last performed at the VMAs in 2018 with her hit, "God Is a Woman." The powerhouse pair also leads this year's nominations with nine nods each, seven of which are for "Rain on Me." Their joint nominations include video of the year, song of the year, and best collaboration.

In case you missed it, MTV's 2020 VMA Awards aired on Sunday night and thanks to our 'new normal', things were a little different. When we say a 'little different' we mean pre-recorded performances (from around the US) and fake audience sounds. Kind of like watching an episode of Friends if you think about it. Lady Gaga stole the show with her nine different outfits (and face masks may we add), but the most iconic moment of the night (potentially day, depending on when it was recorded), was her Rain On Me performance with Ariana Grande. While Gaga wore a mask clearly inspired by Tom Hardy's Bane performance in The Dark Knight Rises, Ariana went for a simple black style. However, we weren't really looking at Ariana's mask, we were more trying to process her transition from ponytail to pigtails. Ariana first revealed her new hairstyle on her Instagram last week, but what we didn't know then is that her ombre blonde bunches were set to be her new signature look. Seeing as the entire Internet had a meltdown when Ari transitioned from a high ponytail, to a low ponytail, we don't know how they're going to cope with this development. http://instagram.com/p/CEipprXl1f7
