Big-name local and national acts like Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, the Lumineers, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Nathaniel Rateliff, the Avett Brothers, Brandi Carlile, the String Cheese Incident, and more will all perform during Banding Together on May 30, a live-stream concert to benefit the Colorado Music Relief Fund, presented by Breckenridge Brewery. You can watch the performances on Saturday, May 30 from 6–9 p.m. on CBS or YouTube, or listen to all the action, which will include storytelling by the musicians and local celebs, on 97.3 KBCO. You can help by donating to the newly-formed Colorado Music Relief Fund, which provides grants to struggling Colorado artists adversely affected by COVID-19. Donations from the Banding Together event go even further thanks to Breckenridge Brewery matching the first $50,000 raised. Music lovers looking to help or music industry workers in need of help can donate or apply for aid here. Using music to save music, Banding Together will be the first of multiple events to benefit the Colorado Music Relief Fund. Look for more throughout the summer.

On May 30, the Colorado Music Relief Fund will launch with a livestreamed event, dubbed ‘Banding Together.’ The broadcast will feature a star-studded group of artists, including Dave Matthews, Marcus Mumford, Grace Potter, The String Cheese Incident, Nathaniel Rateliff and many more. The event will also feature an “exclusive conversation” between Bob Weir and former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.In addition, Jack Johnson, The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers, Brandi Carlile, Sam Bush, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Michael Franti and more will perform during the event. It will be hosted by Bret Saunders, Morning Show host for 97.3 KBCO and Jim Benemann, CBS4 anchorman. The event is sponsored by Breckenridge Brewery. “The necessary health and safety measures put in place to protect against the spread of COVID-19 means the suspension of operations at the center of the music scene — pausing tours and live performances,” read a press release. “For an industry that relies on events and public gatherings, the impact has been devastating. The resulting economic distress will continue to place strain on all those in the industry who face uncertainty in regards to reopening, employment, and financial security. The Colorado Music Relief Fund was created in partnership with the State of Colorado and Colorado Creative Industries to generate much-needed relief funds to help all those in the Colorado music industry affected by COVID-19.”“Our crew is the lifeblood of our touring operation,” said musician, Nathaniel Rateliff. “Living and working together over the years, we have become family. Banding Together People across the world can tune into the three-hour event to watch performances and storytelling by musicians, crew members, industry members, and Colorado personalities. Breckenridge Brewery is today (May 30th) presenting Banding Together, a benefit livestream concert supporting the Colorado Music Relief Fund. Airing from 8:00 p.m. EDT-11:00 p.m. EDT, the event is available via YouTube, 97.3 KBCO, and CBSN Denver. Tune in below.
Hosted by KBCO Morning Show host Bret Saunders and CBS4 anchor Jim Benemann, the livestream will feature performances from The Avett Brothers, Brandi Carlile, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Marcus Mumford, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, The Lumineers, Michael Franti, Nathaniel Rateliff, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sam Bush, The String Cheese Incident, and Nick and Helen Forster.
In addition to the music, there will be “storytelling by musicians, crew members, industry members, and Colorado personalities.” Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir will hold a conversation with former CO Governor John Hickenlooper, while Rateliff and Mumford will chat with each other from across the Atlantic.
The event benefits the CMRF, established by a partnership between the State of Colorado and the Colorado Creative Industries to provide relief funds to local music industry professionals impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Donations can be made via the Banding Together website, and sponsor Breckenridge Brewery has pledged to match up to $50,000 raised.
