Not only did she win a gold medal with her ice-dancing partner Charlie White during the Winter Olympics in Sochi, but she also nabbed the "Dancing With the Stars" mirror ball trophy. Davis and her pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were declared the champions of Season 18 on Tuesday night. Awaiting the results, the pair appeared to have tears in their eyes as they held each other and swayed back and forth as they awaited host Tom Bergeron's announcement of who had won. The audience exploded as Davis and Chmerkovskiy's names were called. "It's just plastic, but it means so much," Chmerkovskiy said. "And when it's lasted a decade of running after, it means that much more, and to do it with Meryl is a dream come true. There's a reason why it didn't happen before -- it's because this was meant to happen with this one." Davis and Chmerkovskiy were heralded throughout the season for their performances and chemistry with judge Carrie Ann Inaba telling them after their final dance that "The best part of the season was you two." Inaba also suggested that the pair should get married which further stirred buzz that the passion the two displayed on the dance floor has extended to their personal lives.

The gold medal-winning figure skater took to his Instagram account while vacationing in Hawaii on Tuesday to announce his engagement to fellow ice dancer Tanith Belbin. On Tuesday, Charlie, 26, posted an Instagram photo of himself with Tanith with the big news. “Couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the best time in our life! Hashtag she said yes!!!” he wrote. It’s been a big year for Charlie. He and his professional partner, Meryl Davis, won the gold medal in ice dancing at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Then they competed against each other with different partners on “Dancing With the Stars.” Meryl and Maksim Chmerkovskiy won “DWTS,” in case you missed it. Tanith, 29, who won an Olympic silver medal in 2006, has dated Charlie for more than five years. Meryl took to Twitter to congratulate them on their big news. “Congrats to these two! Beautiful girl, beautiful (ring). Good work @charlieawhite," she tweeted. Apparently the news that Charlie and Meryl are not a couple in real life broke a lot of hearts on Twitter, where one fan wrote: “possibly the most devastating news this morning is charlie white is engaged to not meryl davis.”

Soon-to-be Mrs. White is 30! Charlie White celebrated fiancee Tanith Belbin's big milestone with a bike ride under the sun on Thursday, July 11. "When celebrating someone else's birthday is the best thing in the world," the Olympic gold medalist tweeted. Alongside the caption, White posted an adorable selfie of himself and the figure skater. In a second photo, Belbin peddled ahead of him near a beautiful blue ocean. White, 26, and the Olympic silver medalist got engaged last month in Hawaii. "Couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the best time in our life! Hashtag she said yes!!!" he wrote. "We got engaged when we hiked to the Hanapepe Falls, the most remote and beautiful place I could imagine," White told Us Weekly exclusively at the time. The following day, he joked about what role his pup DJ would play in the wedding. "Everyone's asking about wedding plans," White tweeted, "but as of right now only one thing is certain—DJ will be giving me away." Soccer with the cast of THE ICE! I don't know if you can tell but Chiddy and I are pretty happy after a goal haha!

Rookie NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Austin Dillon can handle himself on any race track, wet or dry. But on ice — well, for a beginner, he's not too bad at all. Dillon, who drives for Richard Childress Racing, looked pretty stout Thursday during his first outing on ice, warming up and taking it easy at first and gaining some speed and confidence toward the end of the session. Of course, he had two veterans helping him sort out the conditions — 2014 Olympic ice dancing gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who dropped by the G-M Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton, Mich., where they train, to offer Dillon some advice. The trio met up to promote the Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 17, where Davis and White will serve as grand marshals and give the order to "start your engines" before the Cup race. They also will watch Dillon, who drives for his grandfather Richard Childress. Dillon is battling for a spot in NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs. He is currently 13th in points. "Charlie and I are from the Great Lakes area and are proud to represent Michigan all over the world, and the link for us acting as grand marshals for the Pure Michigan 400 race is great," said Davis, who, like her longtime skating partner, is a student at Michigan. "Speed is a huge part of what we do (on the ice). But, obviously, we've never experienced anything like Austin goes through. We are super excited to be going to MIS." Since the Olympics, Davis and White have been performing in ice skating shows around the globe, having just returned a few days ago from dancing in Japan. They also competed in the popular TV series Dancing with the Stars but have chosen to take the current season off from international competition to recharge their batteries. "There were other things we wanted to do," said Davis, who is from West Bloomfield. "We've been excited to do some shows and skate in a different capacity. But I think at the end of this competitive season, we will really take a look at whether we want to return to competition and go for another Olympics." White is enjoying the break from the cutthroat world of international ice dance, he said. "Four years (until the next Olympics) is such a long time — a lot could happen," said White, who was raised in Royal Oak. "We've just expected so much out of ourselves for the last four, eight — well, our entire career — to just have a year stress-free and then kind of re-evaluate ourselves, we are looking forward to that."

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis shippers, rejoice! The former Dancing With the Stars partners reunited for an early bite to eat on Saturday, Aug. 9. "Got to see this one! Finally! Thanks for breakfast @meryledavis," the Ukrainian native, 32, wrote via Instagram. Davis replied: "Missed this one." In the adorable snapshot, the Mirrorball trophy winners posed for a selfie outside. Chmerkovskiy wore a white V-neck top while leaning into Davis. The 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist, meanwhile, smiled big and donned a denim shirt. After winning the competition’s 18th season back in May with Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis of West Bloomfield, Chmerkovskiy said that he doesn’t plan to come back for the show’s next season. “You do something for almost nine years, I think it’s enough, no?” Chmerkovskiy said. “Fourteen seasons — how much more do you want, honestly? I know, people are just always .” Chmerkovskiy said that he plans to pursue acting and also owns several dance studios. Fan Rayyan Ameiche came from Canton to see Chmerkovskiy. The close pals were hounded with (and denied) showmance rumors while competing during the ABC series. "Do you know what a showmance is? It is like being at a summer camp when you're a teenager," Chmerkovskiy explained to Social Life magazine in June. "You spend summertime away from your home. When you spend three months very closely with someone at a particular place, it is like a summer love. You have no choice but to get involved with that person."
