The singer reminded her 111 million followers on social media that not everyone in the United States sees "liberty and justice." "This was in 2017," Cyrus wrote on Instagram, where she posted her introduction to an old "Party in the U.S.A." performance on Saturday (July 4). "Feels EVEN MORE relevant right NOW. It ain’t a Party In The USA until we see #LibertyandJusticeFORALL you heard me, FOR ALL! #fuckthefourthuntilthereisfreedom." http://instagram.com/p/CCOoOXVJYa- In the clip, filmed three years ago at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, she said: "It's not a party in the USA if we don't have equality, unity, justice, compassion, kindness, opportunity, healthcare, education, non-violence. So, f--- yeah, it will be a party in the USA. We'll see it. If we all f---ing come together, we'll f---ing make sure that it is, 'cause I'm not giving up. We can't stop, all right?" "Party in the U.S.A." is typically an Independence Day favorite as people queue up music to soundtrack their celebrations. In 2019, the song's music video saw a 240% streaming spike on YouTube.

John Legend brought his emotional ballad "Never Break" to the 2020 Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC on Saturday (July 4).
Seated at the piano in a holiday-ready red suit, Legend crooned the Bigger Love track, which he also recently performed for the BET Awards.
He seemed to be solo until he got to the chorus of the song, when a choir -- safely spaced apart -- joined him on vocals.
This year's 4th of July TV special was based in New York City but featured musical performances filmed by artists around the country. Brad Paisley opened the show, which also had appearances by Lady A, The Killers, Tim McGraw and The Black Eyed Peas, plus national youth poet laureate Amanda Gorman.

Macy’s capped off its five nights of “pop-up” fireworks displays with a brief but beautiful blitz of explosives atop the Empire State Building. The demonstration kicked off at 9:38 p.m. with colorful fireworks shooting off the Art Deco landmark’s observatory, sending sparks and smoke drifting down over Midtown and drawing “wows” from the crowd. “I’m so glad they did that. What a cool idea to shoot them off the building like that,” said Geela Roland, 54, a Pilates instructor who was among more than 150 people lined up along 34th Street between 5th and Madison avenues to watch the surprise light show. Macy’s had not publicized the fireworks locations in advance in order to prevent crowds from gathering in violation of social-distancing rules. “It looked like they were shooting some of them out of the windows,” Roland added. “That was very nice. That was something good for morale. We needed that.” The first blasts lasted less than a minute, with fireworks resuming again for three minutes around 9:51 p.m. “It’s a different display this year — that’s for sure,” said Lucien Vanoverberghe, a warehouse worker, as he gazed up at the skyscraper lit up in red, white and blue. Vanoverberghe had traveled to Manhattan from Patterson, NJ, with his wife and three kids in hopes of catching the display. “A lot of the fireworks in Jersey are canceled this year,” he added. “But we wanted to bring the kids to see this. We wanted to show our support.”
