Katy Perry offered her opinion about Kanye West running for president in a virtual interview with the U.K.'s Hits Radio on Friday (July 10).
The pop star, who called in for a 16-minute video chat about topics including her upcoming album, being in quarantine, her pregnancy and her dog's birthday, was prompted with the question: "We all know that 2020's one of the weirdest years so far ... How do you feel about Kanye West making it even weirder by becoming president?"
“I think, you know, what we’ve learned looking back is that the presidential job is best suited for someone with experience and that is a pro in their field," she responded.
“I think we have seen and learned from experience that when we don't have pros in position, that it can get a little wild," Perry added.
"I love Kanye," said Perry. "He is amazing. I just, you know, I love him as an artist. And I think he’s an incredible disrupter as an artist and a conversation-maker as an artist. And that’s what I love the most about him."

Kanye West’s behavior and presidential bid are a “nightmare” for Kim Kardashian, according to a well-placed source.
Kardashian begged West to end his presidential aspirations for the sake of their family — but the rapper refused and instead upped his operation. Kardashian flew to West’s ranch in Wyoming early last week after his emotional speech at a rally where he talked about how they nearly aborted their first child, daughter North.
A source said, “Kim begged Kanye to stop his presidential thing, to stop talking about their kids at rallies. But he ignored her and instead he went ahead and hired more people . . . and tried to register in more states. He just won’t stop this presidential bulls–t.”
They have been living separate lives, with Kardashian residing in LA with her family and her kids, and West in Wyoming. Kim flew to Wyoming to visit and out again over the weekend, as she’s been doing every few weeks.
The source claimed, “This is a nightmare for Kim, she is looking for a way out. But she’s also a nice person and wants to do the best for her kids.”
A rep for Kardashian said, “This is not true.”

At least two people with links to Kanye West’s nascent presidential campaign are also active in Republican Party politics. One of West’s electors in the state of Vermont will also be a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Charlotte. Chuck Wilton, one of the three electors West’s presidential campaign named in a filing submitted with the Vermont secretary of State on Monday, was also elected by the Vermont Republican Party in May to serve as a delegate for President Trump at this year’s RNC. (Electors are the people who would – were the candidate to win the state – vote for them in the Electoral College.) Asked by Intelligencer if he was the same person who was listed as a delegate, Wilton replied, “Yup, that would be me.” He said that he had been involved in politics in Vermont for years, and had been connected to the West campaign “through political contacts.” “Somebody said that Vermont needs electors for certain people and [it was] something I said that I’m more than willing to do,” Wilton explained. He described himself politically as “conservative libertarian/center right,” adding that he was “not disappointed with [Trump] but wanted to search out some more alternatives to him.” Wilton said that he thought West was “center right” just like him. The Republican National Committee did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Wilton was the second person with ties to the GOP to be linked to the West presidential campaign on Monday. A prominent Republican operative, Gregg Keller, was listed as the campaign’s point of contact in a filing with the Arkansas secretary of State. Keller, who did not respond to repeated requests for comment, is the former executive director of the American Conservative Union and has worked for a number of prominent Republican politicians including Mitt Romney and Josh Hawley.

Kanye West just tweeted something that seemed to cast shade in Taylor Swift's direction, but it also seems it might be directed at Kim.
Kanye, who's ensconced at his Wyoming ranch, tweeted a pic of a rattlesnake with the caption, "Not gonna use a snake emoji cause you know why ... I'm not sure if Christians are allowed to use snake emojis."
You probably recall Ye's war with Taylor Swift back in 2016, when Kanye said he gave Taylor a heads up before releasing his song, "Famous," which included the lyric, "I made that bitch famous." Taylor begged to differ and the war was on.
Kim jumped to Kanye's defense, using snake emojis to call Taylor a "snake" after Swift said she was blindsided by the lyric.

Kanye West urged both President Trump and Joe Biden to study a 2001 book about empowering Black Americans in another Twitter spree. His latest tweets come after a tumultuous month that included a bizarre first campaign rally in South Carolina, a series of tweets that touched on everything from abortion to cheating allegations lodged at his wife Kim Kardashian-West and concerns over the rapper's mental health. And most recently, his presidential campaign has been accused of committing election fraud as Kanye, 43, continued his controversial run to the Oval Office. First, Kanye kicked off the night with a tweet suggesting Trump and Biden embrace the book, 'PowerNomics: The National Plan to Empower Black America' and speak with the author. 'Dr. Claud Anderson Powernomics,' wrote Kanye. 'Both Biden and Trump need to meet with Dr. Anderson as soon as possible about restoring the black community.' Biden and Trump have previously said they're allies of the Black American community, but both have been dealt criticism over those claims. On several occasions, Trump has said that he's done more for the Black American community with the slim exception of President Abraham Lincoln. But he's taken an aggressive stance against anti-racism, Black Lives Matter demonstrations that have called for an end to racial inequality and police brutality against minorities. In that regard, he's unequivocally sided with law enforcement while referring to protesters as 'anarchists' and 'antifa.'
