It's fashion week, baby! And even though Selena Gomez is far away from New York Fashion Week and is out socializing in LA, style never sleeps. But even though I'd trade my entire closet for Selena's latest get-up, it was apparently so finicky that she couldn't even move in it. Last night, after announcing the launch of her new Rare Beauty cosmetics line, Selena attended the 2020 Hollywood Beauty Awards to reminisce on all the strides the beauty industry has made in the past year. For the special occasion, Selena wore a blush pink off-the-shoulder satin dress from Patou and super high heels from Aquazzura. She looked stunning, but thanks to a fan account that got a hold of videos of Selena during the party, we know what a pain that dress was all night. http://instagram.com/p/CAYBLL8nd26 If you watch the vids, you can hear Selena joking and saying, "I can't move my arms!" and "I can't f*cking move." And she wasn't even exaggerating! When she tried to lift her glass to take a sip, she had to slump down in her seat and awkwardly lean back to bring her face to her cup because she couldn't lift her arms. http://instagram.com/p/CAGR90Bn83L

Selena Gomez's makeup company Rare Beauty launched the Rare Impact Fund on her 28th birthday Wednesday, which plans to raise $100 million to provide mental health services to underserved communities. Going forward with the mission-driven beauty brand's very first sale, one percent of annual sales on Rare Beauty products in addition to funds raised by partners will benefit the fund, which plans to raise the $100 million goal over the next 10 years. After reaching its goal, the Rare Impact Fund will become one of the largest known funds supporting mental health from a corporate entity. http://instagram.com/p/CCozo__H8Vg "I’m so grateful to be surrounded by a team that’s helped make the Rare Impact Fund a reality," Gomez said in a press release. "Since the brand’s inception, we wanted to find a way to give back to our community and further support people who needed access to mental health services, which have had a profound impact on my life. Rare Beauty is focused on helping people feel more connected to one another and less alone in the world. The Rare Impact Fund will make a direct impact on many lives and, ultimately, make a difference in the world. I’m proud of the work we’ve begun to do with our partners to offer these services to anyone who needs support." Gomez founded Rare Beauty in February with the self-affirming mission that "being rare is about being comfortable with yourself." The title of the makeup line nods to her third studio album Rare she released at the beginning of the year, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 at the end of January. http://instagram.com/p/CC9Dhz4H3qe "Our goal is ambitious. We want to raise $100 million for mental health in the next 10 years," said Scott Friedman, CEO of Rare Beauty, in the release. "With the launch of the Rare Impact Fund, we will create one of the largest philanthropic efforts focused on mental health in the world. The funds will go toward increasing access to mental health services, particularly for underserved communities." Rare Beauty also created the Rare Beauty Mental Health Council, which brings mental health experts from universities, organizations and companies together to guide the company's strategy. Members of the Rare Beauty Mental Health Council include: Permission to Feel author Dr. Marc Brackett of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence; Dr. Scott L. Rauch of McLean Hospital; Dr. Jane Delgado of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health; Sad Girls Club CEO/founder Elyse Fox; NAMI National Director of Strategic Partnerships Katrina Gay; singer-songwriter Justin Tranter; Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Lindsay Peoples Wagner; The Happiness Project author Gretchen Rubin; Sephora Vice President of Merchandising, Makeup Jennifer Cohen; and YouTube's Global Social Impact Marketing Director Kit Hayes. http://instagram.com/p/CC8xDDknb7w Back in April, Gomez chatted candidly about her bipolar diagnosis with Miley Cyrus on her Bright Minded Instagram Live series and explained how she found out at McLean Hospital, a psychiatric hospital outside Boston, Mass. where she also won the 2019 McClean Award last September for her mental health advocacy. "Recently, I went to one of the best mental hospitals in... America, McClean Hospital, and I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things, I realized that I was bipolar," Gomez told Cyrus. "And so when I got to know more information, it actually helps me. It doesn't scare me once I know it."

Selena Gomez quietly celebrated her 28th birthday on Wednesday with a dreamy outdoor midsummer dinner. The singer shared a couple Polaroids from the event on her Instagram, telling fans she opted to stay off the 'gram during her July 22 birthday. Two of her close friends, Raquelle Stevens and Courtney Lopez, teased photos of the decor on their own Instagrams. http://instagram.com/p/CDAajwDprfE "Left my phone for most of yesterday to be present in the moment, but have been reading all of your posts today," Gomez captioned her post last night. "Just wanted to say thank you for every single message- I feel so much love from y’all 🥰 I love you guys so much and here’s to 28 💘" http://instagram.com/p/CDAMv-ajRqr Gomez posed in a silk dress in front of pink "Happy Birthday Selena" balloons and alongside her birthday cake: Stevens shared a shot of the dinner setup on her own Instagram. There were umbrellas, pink petals, and a long table set up for a meal at sunset, with pink pastel pillow seats. "Birthday magic ✨💕" she captioned it. Lopez and Stevens were among many friends to share tributes to Gomez on Instagram on her birthday. Lopez shared a grid post of her and Gomez on Thursday, writing, "was too busy celebrating yesterday that I forgot to post. I’ll leave all the mushy stuff in the card but love you forever @selenagomez"

In a rare social media appearance, Selena Gomez blessed our feeds with a few snapshots from her 28th-birthday party—and her metallic gold Free People dress was a perfect match for the shiny balloons in the backdrop of the Polaroid pictures. The singer rocked a dewy, barefaced beauty look with a sleek low bun ideal for chilled-out quarantine hangs, but the floor-length gown served Old Hollywood glam for the special day. http://instagram.com/p/CDAMv-ajRqr The vintage-inspired number, still available to shop in various colors online, is the perfect low-key showstopper for an at-home birthday bash—because even if you're surrounded by your closest friends, a little shine goes a long way. Leave it to silky fabric, a V-neckline, and romantic flutter sleeves to drive your look home—despite the fact that you're likely going absolutely nowhere. Like the rest of us, Gomez has been lying low for the past few months, but she took the time to thank fans while commencing another trip around the sun. “Left my phone for most of yesterday to be in the present moment,” she wrote—and honestly, who can't relate to needing a screen break during these crazy times? Despite her opting for Airplane Mode for the day, she wasn't shelving style, and signaled that metallics are absolutely the move for summer 2020 (swimwear included).

"I’ve had so much fun creating everything and can’t wait for y’all to try it all! Rare Beauty plans to raise $100 million over the next 10 years. http://instagram.com/p/CATxYE-n3gy The Rare Beauty IG account also shared a video from their founder and 2017 Billboard Woman of the Year sharing what she hopes her makeup will accomplish for all of her consumers and fans of all genders.
