Rare Beauty is officially launching at Sephora in less than two weeks, and well, if there's anyone more excited than us, it's Selena Gomez — aka the founder. Leading up to the launch, the "Lose You to Love Me" singer has been sharing sneak peeks of the line on social media, including some stunning selfies that show her wearing the actual products. Then, this weekend, Gomez got fans even more hype for the September 3 drop by sharing some super-sweet behind-the-scenes moments from the brand's very first photo shoot. http://instagram.com/p/CEM2N0kjY7j On Saturday, August 22, the 28-year-old star posted a video on Instagram with the caption: "A few of my favorite memories from the first @rarebeauty photoshoot in January. Can’t wait for all of you to try it on September 3rd at @sephora." The video features an adorable montage of clips from the shoot, with Gomez appearing in many of them, smiling and laughing alongside the other models. The jars and tubes on my bathroom counter this summer had the potential to get me in very big trouble if anyone were to spot them. For weeks now, I have been in possession of nearly every single top-secret product in Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty line, which won't be available at Sephora and rarebeauty.com until this Thursday, September 3. Luckily for me, I got to let my thoughts on the collection spill freely with one of the only other humans on the planet who's also gotten to try every single product: Selena Gomez. Before we even started talking about the products, Selena wanted me to know that the line's true mission is beauty — but the real beauty that comes from embracing your looks, rather than feeling the need to doctor and conceal them with filters on your feeds. "With social media, it's obvious to say that there's such a huge misconception of beauty. There's just so much pressure," Selena says. To help ease that stress and the other emotional burdens of our modern age, Rare Beauty has established the Rare Impact Fund, which has pledged to raise $100 million for mental health services for individuals in underserved communities. To do this, the company will donate one percent of all sales, from the time the very first product is sold, to the fund. "Beauty doesn't have to be defined by a like or a comment, or your body," Selena says. "The whole time we were creating [Rare Beauty], we were always under the notion that this was going to be also about mental health and creating a safe place for people to connect." But this isn't just a new beauty brand with a solid mission — it's also really freaking good makeup. Alongside her chief product officer, Joyce Kim, Selena spent two years fine-tuning the 12 formulas, 100-plus shades, and three tools that Rare is launching with. Many foundations that target my skin tone are heavily yellow or orange, to try to match the skin's natural warmth, but the secret — that Rare is clearly in on — is actually adding a bit of pinkness to balance it out. And there are 47 other shades where my perfect match came from, so I'm not the only one who's going to find a winner.

When Selena Gomez walks a red carpet or shoots a music video, the most picture-perfect version of herself is put on full-display. But the star wants her fans to know that, just like them, she still struggles with some of the same skincare concerns that they do when she's not all glammed up. When the Rare Beauty founder, 28, walked through her skin and makeup routine for Vogue's Beauty Secrets video series, she opened up about her ongoing battle with acne. "I've for sure had acne and usually it's kind of all in the T-zone," Gomez said. "I try not to pick at anything. Sometimes that's hard." http://instagram.com/p/CEr9zERjr8G She added: "I notice when I get stressed or something I break out more or I get lazy with my routine so I feel like it's just become a part of it. And I just deal with whatever I got that day." Since her skin type leans more on the combination side ("I have dry skin but then in certain areas I'm oily — it's really annoying," she said), Gomez likes a face cream that is hydrates, but doesn't break her out. "I love the Tatcha Dewy Skin line," the star said as she holds up the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. "It's so thick and yummy that you actually don't have to use that much of it." http://instagram.com/p/CEqQIA9jfK0

On September 6, makeup guru Nikkie de Jage, a.k.a. NikkieTutorial, posted a new video featuring the “Lose You to Love Me” singer. While trying out Gomez’s new Rare Beauty makeup line, the duo discussed some of the pop star’s favorite makeup looks through the years—her “I Can’t Get Enough” music video glam is one of them—and why she’s in no hurry to get into a new relationship after being single for almost five years.
Around 19 minutes into the video, while discussing her makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, the 28-year-old jokes about marriage. “He will be doing my makeup for my wedding, which is never gonna happen,” she quipped.
“It’s hard in quarantine,” she continued, before adding that her words are “not an invitation” for interested parties. “It’s just funny that I release things that, like, say I want a boyfriend and stuff…and I’m like, ‘I didn’t really mean it, though. Guys are a lot of work.’ ”
“Every one of my exes thinks I’m crazy,” she added. “So I don’t care.”

Selena Gomez has been linked to a few high-profile celebrities throughout the years. Other than her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber, she also dated The Weeknd and Nick Jonas—not to mention rumored romances with Orlando Bloom and Niall Horan. Bieber even came under fire this week for mentioning Gomez in a music video for DJ Khaled and Drake’s song, “Popstar.”
Meanwhile, although Gomez claims she’s single and not looking for love, the makeup mogul became visibly flustered after receiving a surprise phone call from a “cute boy” during a recent episode of the HBO Max series Selena + Chef.
“Hey, I have to call you back. I’m cooking,” she told the mystery man before apologizing to chef Roy Choi. “Sorry, cute boy,” Gomez explained with a laugh. Iiiinteresting.
