Taylor Swift is slamming President Donald Trump over his handling of funding for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ahead of the 2020 presidential election. The 30-year-old pop superstar took to Twitter on Saturday (Aug. 15) to criticize Trump over reports that he is deliberately withholding billions of dollars in funding for the USPS as part of a coronavirus relief package. Many claim Trump is purposely starving the postal service in an attempt to slow down an expected surge of mail-in ballots this November. "Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely. Request a ballot early. Vote early," Swift wrote. "Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly: He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power." This isn't the first time Swift has spoken out against Trump. In late May, the singer slammed the president for tweeting that protesters in Minnesota should be shot. The post later become Swift's most-liked tweet ever, hitting more than 1 million likes in less than five hours. "After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’ We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump," Swift wrote.

As part of her "One-Minute Jam" video series on YouTube, EVANESCENCE guitarist Jen Majura has teamed up with IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain and WHITESNAKE guitarist Joel Hoekstra to record a cover version of "Live And Let Die", originally written by Sir Paul McCartney for the 1973 James Bond film of the same name, and performed by WINGS.
In a statement accompanying the release of the video, Majura wrote: "Please give it up for this week's phenomenal 1min jammers: IRON MAIDEN's very own Nicko McBrain on drums and WHITESNAKE's Joel Hoekstra on guitar! We gathered digitally to jam the ultimate '73 classic 'Live and let die' for you - hope you'll enjoy!"
Majura has released two solo albums thus far, 2014's "Jen Majura' and 2017's "InZENity".
In an interview with Metal Temple, Majura stated about her songwriting approach on "InZENity": "For 'InZENity', I swore to myself to make no compromises at all, which is the major difference [between the two albums]. 'Cause with my first album I tried to sound like I want to sound as well as I thought how people would expect me to sound. Horrible idea. When I made the decision to finally record the songs for 'InZENity', things were different. No one could tell [me] what I can do or what I cannot do. One instrumental track, an acoustic track and crazy prog hard rock with jazz as well as metal elements… Not possible? Possible, and 'InZENity' is the evidence."
This past Friday, EVANESCENCE released a new single called "Use My Voice" via Sony. The song follows "Wasted On You" and "The Game Is Over" as the third track to be released from "The Bitter Truth", EVANESCENCE's forthcoming album, and its first containing all-new material in nearly a decade.

Last week, EVANESCENCE released a new single, "Use My Voice", which was written to celebrate the power of speaking out in order to promote more justice in the world. The track, featuring contributions from THE PRETTY RECKLESS's Taylor Momsen and HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale, was chosen by HeadCount in the USA to encourage voters to register, check their registration, or find out about their remote voting options amid the COVID-19 pandemic at UseMyVoice.org.
"That song has been bubbling in the background for me for a couple of years," EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee told Billboard. "I've never really... spoken politically, or made any real statement about what I believe and what's going on, because I don't like to divide the fans. I want the music to be our free place where we can all have something in common. But sometimes things are just right and wrong, and you have feelings that can't be held back. And if I'm gonna be true to myself and my music, like I always have been, then I have to say what's heavy on my heart."
This past May, Lee said that she was " angry, horrified" and "ashamed" over the murder of George Floyd in police custody as well as President Donald Trump's response to the subsequent protests and riots.
Just three months earlier, Lee opened up about her political views for the first time, explaining that she couldn't "stand by" and keep her mouth shut while her "country's freedom is taken away." He decision to speak out was apparently prompted by the GOP-controlled Senate's vote to acquit Trump on both articles of impeachment without calling witnesses.
She wrote at the time: "I do not accept lying, cheating or bullying from my government… Accepting this abuse says it's okay for our leaders to lie to us, cheat on us, make decisions without our input, and silence us when we try to speak up. This isn't about your policies or beliefs, it's about our freedom."
Lee added: "I will never bow down to a dictator."

Evanescence singer Amy Lee has explained why she’s broken her silence on political matters in 2020.
Speaking to Loudwire Nights, Lee said: “I definitely still don’t want to divide people. Our job as artists — to me — is to bring people together. Also it’s to provoke thought. You think about a concert, you think about bringing all those people into a room and making them look into their core and find similarities between each other, in a way.
“Because at the core of everything, we’re not red, we’re not blue, we’re not anything. We’re just people. And I want that.”
Evanescence’s latest single ‘Use My Voice,’ taken from the band’s heavily delayed forthcoming album ‘The Bitter Truth’, finds the singer imploring her fanbase to vote and make their voice heard at the upcoming US election between current President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
“I’ve in a way reached a point this year where I feel like silence is a statement that I don’t want to make,” the ‘Bring Me To Life’ singer continued. “I needed to express myself in that song. And we began thinking about… how can we make things better? Not divide people, not scream from the rooftops. There’s a lot of screaming going on.”

As you might remember, Evanescence released a new song named ‘Use My Voice’ with the contributions of The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen and Halestorm icon Lzzy Hale. The single mainly addressed the issue of promoting the power of speaking up about injustice around the world. Although her song was focused on using one’s voice to raise awareness about social and political matters, Amy Lee previously stated that she had been remaining silent on these issues and she didn’t vote on some of the elections. However, Lee mentioned that during the creating process of her song, she realized she was wrong not voting in every election and not using her platform to raise the voice of those unheard. http://instagram.com/p/CFITDvjnJPJ Following her statements, Amy Lee shared a reminder On Instagram for her fans to register to vote since there were only 50 days until the election day. On the caption of her post, Amy urged her fans and followers to mark their calendars and check out the website she added to see their options for voting on the Election Day 2020. Here’s what Amy Lee stated on the caption of her latest post: “Mark your calendars – there are 50 days until Election Day 2020. Visit HeadCount.org to make sure you’re ready to vote. You can request a mail-in ballot, find out how to vote early in person, or update your voter registration. Don’t wait another day. Get vote ready at here.“ http://instagram.com/p/CEZnyF3nysW However, the supporters of Donald Trump took over the comment section of Lee’s post by sharing various messages showing their support for the current president.
