Both Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez did interviews with Zane Lowe on Apple's Beat 1 radio today, and together they shared a portrait of how Swift helped Gomez process her heartbreak after her final Justin Bieber breakup last year. The girls never named Bieber, but they did talk about Gomez's breakup song "Lose You to Love Me" being a finish line of that emotional processing. Swift spoke first, telling Lowe that the song is "the best thing she's ever done. She came over, she played me the video. I'm so proud of her. She's been through so much. I've watched so much happen in her life and had a front row seat to so much, and I'm so proud of her. She is such a revelation because now she's making her best stuff. I am 100 percent convinced this is the best thing she's done so far." Lowe asked Swift what the difference is between Gomez before and now. Swift demurred there, but she had glowing things to say about how much pride she had to see Gomez throughout her journey. "You know, I think no one can say that better than she can, but just from my perspective as her friend, I've just never been more proud," she started. "The things that she’s overcome, the situations she’s risen above, it’s been a long time since we were friends and she’s the best. She’s just the best. I’m really excited because when somebody has had great life experience, has had really tough things they’ve had to go through and they can process that and make art that’s going to help other people, that’s what kind of song this is. I’m stoked."

Swift and Gomez first met and became friends back in 2006 when they were both dating the Jonas Brothers. As the years passed they became closer, their individual and shared hardships only strengthening their bond. “I have known Taylor for 13 years. She is the most dedicated, fearless, feisty [sic], strongest woman I’ve ever known. People can say b*tch but what I’m saying to you is that’s called a woman with true identity and strength who takes no sh*t,” Gomez said in a statement she posted to her Instagram story on November 15, 2019, before launching into her thoughts about how unfairly Braun and Big Machine Records was treating her friend. http://instagram.com/p/BcqEg2Ug08Z A private listening party for Fearless Later in the statement, Gomez revealed a sweet memory that she and Swift shared back in 2008 ahead of the release of Swift’s highly-successful sophomore album, Fearless. “I listened to fearless before it came out and I just remember us jumping on a bed and she was just sparkling. -so proud of her diary being read by the whole world. Nervous of people not liking it… but that became one of the biggest records – an album that saved so many young women [sic] who felt alone,” the “Good For You” singer shared. Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift Gomez then went on to share how impactful Fearless was for people across the globe and how important it was to Swift herself. “Have a broken heart. Who were healing. Those who felt invisible. Gave a voice to those who didn’t know that they had one all along. Believing in dreams again. I continued to see how she has constantly challenged her self to create a beautiful life that belongs [sic] to just her. So I can tell you first hand the MOST important thing to Taylor is her family, love, her fans, and her MUSIC,” the 27-year old added. Gomez plays new songs for Swift before they release Of course, this isn’t the first time that the pair have shared their music with one another ahead of its release. Gomez recently revealed that she played her first number-one single “Lose You To Love Me” with Swift and her mother, Andrea Swift, prior to release. Gomez confessed that the song brought both Swifts to tears because they knew everything that she’d been through in order to get to a place where writing the song and releasing it to the world was feasible.

I feel like I need to put a disclaimer on this piece, so here it is: I am a huge Taylor Swift fan. So, if you think this article seems a little bias—you're absolutely right. What can I say? We stan Taylor in this house. Okay, I'm glad we got that out of the way. Now, on to the real news. Selena Gomez recently confirmed all of our hopes with the admission that she wants to collaborate with her best friend, Taylor Swift. Selena appeared on the Animal Talking with Gary Whitta live-stream show and explained that a collab with Taylor is a real possibility. "I've always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor," she said. "We both wanted to do that. It just feels like we’re family. I've know her for 13 or 14 years now. She's been my best friend. But we've talked about it for sure." They've been performing together since Taylor's 2010 album, Speak Now. Selena frequently makes appearances on her bestie's tours and they usually sing a song or two together. It's always amazing and fun and feels like a peek into their more than a decade-long friendship. Obviously, Swifties and Selenators would support a collab from the two artists. And the collab might come than we think since Selena announced that she's already working on a new album despite her recent Rare release. "It’s funny because I already feel like I’ve been working on the new album," she said. "But I’m so proud of what we did. Oh no, I’m not sure if I was supposed to say that." The heart wants what it wants and our hearts wants this collab... ASAP.

Could the next step in Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift’s decade-long friendship be a musical collaboration? It sure sounded that way when the Rare singer made a guest appearance on the virtual late-night talk show Animal Talking With Gary Whitta on August 5. Aside from revealing that she’s officially working on her next album, Gomez also weighed in on the very real possibility of her and Swift recording new music together…soon. “I’ve always dreamed of doing a song with Taylor,” Gomez said when she was asked who’s on her collaboration wish list. “We both wanted to do that…. We’ve talked about it, for sure.” The 28-year-old pop star went on to say it would only make sense for her and the “Betty” hitmaker to work on a song together—especially given their longstanding friendship. “It just feels like we’re family, I’ve known her for 13, 14 years now,” Gomez shared. When the show’s host, Garry Witta, suggested it’s only a matter of time before the two collaborate, Gomez teased, “You never know….” Check out the interview for yourself below (Gomez talks about Swift at the 11-minute mark): Last month Selena Gomez gave Swift’s new album, Folklore, some love by sharing a screenshot of the song “Cardigan” on Instagram Stories. “She’s done it again @taylorswift,” Gomez wrote, adding a pink bow emoji.

Selena Gomez has been dipping her spoon into the cooking world, sharpening her chef skills in her new HBO Max at-home cooking show Selena + Chef.
In one of the new episodes, Gomez learned how to make a delicious-looking Korean BBQ Texas breakfast taco. Stunned at her new skills, she immediately asked master chef Roy Choi if she could FaceTime a "friend" to show off her new dish.
That "friend" ended up being none other than Gomez' superstar BFF Taylor Swift. “If you don’t send me the recipe, we’re going to have words," Swift said upon seeing what her friend cooked up. "I want to be served that.”
"I just wanted to show you because I’m so proud," the "Lose You to Love Me" singer said, before Swift replied, "Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you to become obsessed with cooking?"
The delicious 10-part series is now available on HBO Max. Watch the sweet FaceTime moment captured by a fan on Twitter.
