On the first day of her two-day The RED Tour shows in Singapore, Grammy award-winning singer Taylor Swift revealed, to shouts and cheers from the crowd, that her mum grew up in Singapore. "She always looks forward to coming back," said the country-pop princess at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Monday. Ever the consummate performer, Swift, who was performing to a crowd of 8,000, also rocked a blue "I Love Singapore" T-Shirt at one point during the show. American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift performed the first of her two-day shows in Singapore to an audience of 8,000 people at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Taylor Swift performed for a full one and a half hour, treating her fans to 13 of her songs, including her famous hits like "Teardrops On My Guitar". This is the first time Taylor Swift is doing two shows in Singapore for a single tour. Reason being that she had to change the venue for her 9 June show from Bangkok to Singapore, due to political unrest in the Thai city. Knowing that there were Thai fans in the crowd on the first of her two-day concert in Singapore, Taylor Swift said that it "means a lot" to her that people had travelled to come for the show. There was also a second stage, located closer to the fans seated at the back, to give them a chance for a closer look at the singer. She performed three songs on this stage, including "Sparks Fly". During the show, Taylor Swift also shared a short video montage showing her growing up. The singer, who moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the US when she was 14 to pursue singing, shared footages of when she first had her guitar as a Christmas present. Just before the concert began, her mother came out to pick lucky fans for what was understood to be a special fan gathering after the concert. There was also a Meet and Greet organised for a few lucky fans.

American singing sensation Taylor Swift certainly knew how to excite the 7,500-strong fans who turned up at her maiden concert here at the Putra Indoor Stadium Wednesday night. Screams and cheers echoed throughout the venue as the seven-time Grammy winner delivered her signature worldwide hits such as Red, Mean and 22, among others. Swift, 24, kicked off the show with an energetic performance of State of Grace, the opening track from her fourth studio album Red. "Saya cinta (I love) Malaysia. Coming here to KL is something I'm excited about because I've heard so much about it," she said. "This is my first time in KL. In fact, it's my first time in Malaysia. And you really know how to make an impression, don't you?" she said with a wink to the crowd. Accompanied by a six-piece band, dancers and backing vocals, the singer-songwriter got the crowd - many clad in various shades of red - to dance and sing along during the 90-minute set. Swift cemented her position as a music-industry sweetheart when she peppered the show with light banter with fans, some of whom camped hours before in the daytime outside the indoor arena amid sweltering heat. "I got to meet a lot of you earlier today and a girl told me that she got married to one of my songs," she shared before performing Enchanted. The country crossover pop star was in town as part of the Asian leg of The Red Tour, which supports her latest studio album. Her other stops in the region include Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines. AIA was the lead sponsor for her Kuala Lumpur show.

When Taylor Swift first talked of her follow-up to 2012′s Red, she had two dream collaborators in mind. One of them was pop wunderkind Max Martin, who co-wrote Red‘s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” In its latest issue, Rolling Stone reports that Swift got her wish – Martin worked on “most of” her new album, according to Big Machine Records founder Scott Borchetta. As a result, he doesn’t expect country radio to take her Swift’s new material. “Taylor fans are going to love it,” Borchetta says. “Will country stations play a complete pop song just because it’s her? No. But when she comes to town, her friends at country radio will come and see her.” But as Swift has pointed out herself, taking such risks has come with huge rewards. She would earn six CMA nominations following Red, then embark her third worldwide tour. “I’ll bring in ideas and they’ll take such a different turn than where I thought they were going to go, and that level of unexpected spontaneity is something that really thrills me in the process of making music,” Swift said to AP, of working with Martin and Shellback. “What if we did this? What if we made it weirder? What if we took it darker? I love people who have endless strange and exciting ideas about where music can go.”

Earlier today (June 12), Taylor Swift performed her final Red Tour show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, wrapping what was truly a massive, 15-month, globe-trotting endeavor. Let’s all have a moment of silence. Pour out a cup of Earl Grey if you’ve got it. Along with the end of the fourth-album Red era, this show marked the last time that needlepoint enthusiast Taylor Swift would sit down at her red piano to perform the powerful ballad, “All Too Well” — at least for the time being. You know, the song she always goes all whiplash-heavy on? Brace for sympathy pangs! Understandably, this is all a lot for the Swifties to process. From hashtagging #LongLiveREDTour to cycling through the entire spectrum of human emotion, here’s a sampling of the most feels-heavy fan reactions to the end Red Tour performances of “All Too Well.” ❀ LONG LIVE RED @swiftsparkling Goodbye red piano, black dress and all too well. I'm not okay.

Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are one of the cutest duos in music today. They have a seemingly real friendship, and that means Sheeran gets deets on Swift’s new music before anyone else. He recently opened up about what fans can expect from the new music — and what they shouldn’t expect. Sheeran got the privilege of joining the crossover artist for her Red Tour for six months, and we imagine he got to know a lot more about Swift while they were out together. Unfortunately, the two didn’t get to do any new writing together, mainly because Swift had just released an album. In fact, Sheeran says we can expect a lot of just Swift on her upcoming album (and we bet fans won’t complain!). “I don’t think she’s teamed up with anyone; I think she did it all on her own,” he tells MTV, adding, “It’s really good.” If that doesn’t get Swift fans excited, we bet hearing that she’s working on something different will. Sheeran says that fans shouldn’t expect her new music to be a ‘Red’ part two — she’s growing and evolving into something different. “She has to evolve,” he explains. “If she makes another ‘Red’ everyone will be like, ‘It sounds like ‘Red.’‘ But she’s evolved and I think it’s a positive step.”
