Meghan Markle has been under the spotlight ever since she tied the knot to Prince Harry, which meant she was now receiving ample praises as well as criticism.
Some negative as well as positive remarks have also come from her celebrity fraternity from the US. An old interview of singer Katy Perry has been making rounds on the internet where she comments on the former actor’s wedding dress chosen for the royal ceremony.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Roar singer gave her most honest thoughts about Meghan’s style for her royal wedding back in 2018.
“I would have done one more fitting. I’m never not going, to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you,” said Katy.
She also compared Meghan’s dress to that of Kate Middleton’s from her 2011 wedding with Prince William.
“Kate, Kate, Kate won. Kate won!” said Katy.
She went on to praise the Duchess of Sussex for her ideals and beliefs and how she serves others and remains humble.
“I’m so happy for them, and you know, I don’t know them from Adam, but it’s amazing what she’s doing with all this, her humanitarian effort. You know, the fact that she’s a proud feminist, I love all that. I support her as another woman and love her and wish them both well,” said Katy.

The Smile hitmaker took to the popular social media site on Sunday to post the following tweet: "Today one of my family members help me realize that the stress/pain/trauma of family Christmas is actually the gift... "An opportunity for growth, every year... guess I'll go grow some more." Fans were quick to comment on the post to express concern, with one writing: "Sending you love," while another wrote: "I hope this is a positive growth and not a negative one." The award-winning singer didn't expand on her tweet but no doubt had a lovely first Christmas with her fiancé Orlando Bloom and their baby daughter Daisy, marking their first one with their four-month-old.

After a life-changing 2020, Katy Perry is gearing up for another big year — and the superstar's newest project is one very close to her heart. In honor of Pokémon's landmark 25th anniversary, the "Not the End of the World" singer, 36, is teaming up with the iconic franchise on a new music program with Universal Music Group. While details are still under wraps, P25 Music will feature surprise global activations throughout the year. "I love being a part of anything that is playful and is good storytelling and has really good messages to share with the world," Perry tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Now having a child myself, I understand that it's so important to play. This is a continued extension of who I am." In 2019, the entertainer — who gave birth to her daughter, Daisy, in late August — visited The Pokémon Café during a trip to Japan, and the experience was "amazing," she recalls. "I was pregnant when I was there actually, little did I know!" says Perry with a laugh. "It was amazing. It brought up all these wonderful childhood memories. I've been going to Japan since I was 17 every year and have always really loved everything that's been created there."
