Scotland Yard is reportedly going to pursue a new lead in the disappearance of missing British toddler, Madeleine McCann. The investigators are said to be honing in on a tip off that suggest that she could be still alive after being snatched by an East European gang of child traffickers, reports The Sun on Sunday. “This is an important new line of inquiry which could provide an explanation on whether Madeleine was abducted and transported away,” an unnamed source told the paper. “It raises hope that she could still be alive.” The anonymous insider described this as a "last throw of the dice" to finally find Maddie, who has been missing since vanishing from a Portuguese holiday resort in 2007, aged three. “At present, funding is due to run out next April when it will be reviewed again,” the source said.

The milestone 50th birthday of Kate McCann tomorrow will be tinged with sadness as funding to find her missing daughter starts to dry up, it is being reported tonight. The haunted mother is no closer to finding out what happened to her daughter Madeleine who disappeared in Portugal while the family were on holiday 11 years ago. Met Police assigned to Operation Grange have less than four weeks left of guaranteed funding, reports The Sun . More funding has been applied for to pursue a 'significant final line of inquiry' but no decision has yet been made if it will be approved.
