It will be the first meeting between these Top 20 players. World No.5 Svitolina is seeking her 15th career WTA singles title and her second of the season. The Ukrainian has built a tremendous 14-3 win-loss record in WTA singles finals throughout her illustrious career, which includes a marathon win over Marie Bouzkova in the Monterrey final earlier this year, just prior to the tennis hiatus. 26-year-old Svitolina has a 4-0 record in clay-court singles finals, including back-to-back championships at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in 2017 and 2018. Svitolina will aim for her second Top 20 win of the year against Rybakina, after picking up her first of the season on Friday with her semifinal victory over Aryna Sabalenka.

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina won the Internationaux de Strasbourg tournament.
Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan was the rival of the Ukrainian in the final. The first set was won by Svitolina. In the second, Rybakina had a crushing dominance. And in the third, the Ukrainian confidently snatched the victory. For Svitolina, this title was 15 in her career. She received 25 000 dollars prize for the victory.

“It was important for me to regroup and return to the match. It was a really positive moment. Usually the tournaments are held in very hot conditions. In the end we managed to play and we are happy that we finished today. There were very different conditions than we expected. I coped well with them," said Svitolina.

"I do not think about it as it is my third title shot. I am just focused on the fact that the title of world champion is at stake. I am always 100% ready. I am going to lie: the championship is the main goal of my entire life. I cannot describe how crucial it is for me. If it works out, I will be very happy, I will feel like Superman," Derevyanchenko stated.
The fight takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, today September 26.

Elina Svitolina said she was “locked in for a big fight” after saving two match points to beat Petra Kvitova and reach the semi-finals of the Stuttgart Open.
The world No. 5 prevailed 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-2 in the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 tournament on Friday. The Ukrainian turned the match around by winning five straight games to edge the second set after having trailed 2-5.
“A big battle is always very satisfying, and you know that the hard work pays off. It’s always an unbelievable feeling to go through this kind of match,” Svitolina said in her post-match press conference.
“In the end, a few points here and there got me back into the match. From 3-5, 4-5 [in the second set] I was ready, fighting and locked in for a big fight.
“I always wanted to play well against [Kvitova] because I think she is a great champion and you want to challenge these kind of players.
“The past few matches that we had, it was always a big fight, good quality of the matches. So, it’s really good to get the wins like that, and I’m very proud of the performance of the past few matches that I showed.
