The three prize-winners after the short program in men's singles skating at the third stage of the Russian Cup in Sochi were: Mikhail Kolyada (101.72), Dmitry Aliev (94.01) and Andrey Mozalev (90.66). Apart from the test skates in Moscow and St. Petersburg, then for the winner of the World and European Championships Mikhail Kolyada this is the first official competition of the season. In the summer, the skater began working in Alexei Mishin's group, and this is his first tournament in a new team. Mikhail Kolyada started his short program with a cascade of 4 toe loop + 3 toe loop, jumped 3 axel and 3 lutz. Rolled easily, spun cool, one of the spins was rated as a bonus. For the short, the athlete scored more than a hundred points - 101.72. After the speech, he asked to postpone comments and interviews for the next day. Coach Alexei Mishin was also laconic, only with gestures he showed that he was pleased with the debut of his ward. European champion Dmitry Aliev in the short program went to two quads - lutz with under-rotation, a cascade of 4th sheepskin coat + 2nd sheepskin coat. Axel made three and a half turns in the second part of the program and earned 94.01 points for skating. The short program that Aliev skated at the stage in Sochi is well known to fans of his talent. It was with her that Dmitry made his debut in his first adult season, performed it at the Olympic Games in Korea. - We wanted to make a new short one for this season, but the injury, a trip to Germany, treatment, recovery took a lot of time and effort. Therefore, we returned to Khachaturian's waltz. Moreover, I felt that two years ago I could not fully disclose it, there were moments of innuendo. Two years ago, I just graduated from juniors, this was my first adult season, and now I have become wiser, more stately ... For this program we made two suits - a burgundy uniform, which I used to wear, and a dark green one. I like the second one more, that's why I put it on now. When this suit was ready, and I saw my reflection in the mirror, I realized that this is the very thing. It seems to me that green reflects wisdom, calmness, confidence ... In general, although there are no spectators in Sochi, their support is still felt. To be honest, I was very nervous when I walked into the arena. And when I saw posters, videos, nice words and comments addressed to myself, the excitement was gone. It cheered me up. Strong. It's great to come back, plunge into the competitive atmosphere, see the judges. I just now realized how much I missed all this, - said Dmitry Aliev.
