Joe Biden Speaks LIVE on Election Night from Wilmington, Delaware President Donald Trump won Florida, the nation’s most prized battleground state, as he and Democrat Joe Biden on Tuesday battled to the finish of an epic campaign that will shape America’s response to the surging pandemic and foundational questions of economic fairness and racial justice. The two men were locked in tight races across the country, with Trump also claiming the battlegrounds of Ohio and Iowa while Biden won Minnesota and Iowa, two modest prizes the president had hoped to steal. Races were too early to call in some of other fiercely contested and critical states on the map, including North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania. The president, by early Wednesday, had retained many states he won in 2016 and, as long predicted, the race in part seemed to rest on the three northern industrial states where Trump most surprised the Democrats four year ago Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Biden, briefly appearing in front of supporters in Delaware, urged patience, saying the election “ain’t over until every vote is counted, every ballot is counted.” “It’s not my place or Donald Trump’s place to declare who’s won this election,” Biden said. “That’s the decision of the American people.” Trump also tweeted that he was going to make a statement.

LIVE: PRESIDENT TRUMP MAKES A STATEMENT ON ELECTION NIGHT
Donald Trump pushed a baseless accusation of “fraud” in the presidential election, as he declared victory without the results to back that up.
“This is a fraud on the American public,” the president said a the White House. “This is an embarrassment to our country.”
Trump added, “We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election.”
The president has not won reelection as of now, and key swing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin remain too close to call.
The president pledged to fight the results of the election at the supreme court.
“We will be going to the US supreme court. We want all voting to stop,” Trump said.
Election officials in key swing states continue to count valid ballots, and that process could continue for days.

Michigan is among a handful of key battleground states where the fate of the US election is yet to be decided. Results in six states - Alaska, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Michigan - are still left uncalled.

The US President has won the crucial states of Ohio, Texas, Iowa and Florida, and is leading in major battleground states like Georgia and Pennsylvania while Biden is ahead in Michigan and Nevada.
Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris have mocked Donald Trump for requesting recounting in Wisconsin and halting of vote counting in Michigan.
In a clear dig at Donald Trump's campaign, Biden said, "Count every vote" while Kamala Harris quipped saying, "As Joe Biden said last night, it’s not up to us or Donald Trump to declare the winner of this election. The voters will decide."

Results from the 2020 presidential election as Americans vote in races for the presidency, 11 governorships, 35 Senate seats and all 435 House seats. Final polls show the race between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden has tightened since mid-October, both nationally and in battleground states. Biden's lead in USA TODAY's average of averages, which is based on data from RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight, reached double-digits on Oct. 12, but has since fallen back to a 7.5-percentage point lead. That leaves him back roughly in the same position USA TODAY found him in its first poll roundup on Sept. 28, when his polling average lead over Trump was 7.2 points. Beyond the presidency, Tuesday's election may result in changes in Congress, where Democrats want to regain control of the Republican-led Senate and Democrats hope to expand their advantage in the House.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner reached out to media mogul Rupert Murdoch after Fox News called Arizona for Joe Biden on Election Night, The New York Times reports. Trump aide Jason Miller is also said to have reached out to Fox News to ask them to retract the race call, but to no avail.
The assessment that Arizona’s electoral votes would go to Biden later proved to be correct. The president was reportedly left infuriated by the news, and he went on to defy the advice of aides and falsely claim victory in the election after angrily watching Biden deliver his optimistic Election Night address in Wilmington. Kushner subsequently began making calls in search of a “James Baker-like” figure who could spearhead a bid to challenge vote counts in various states, the Times reports.
