All hell broke loose after the explosive new season of Netflix's The Crown was dropped last week.
And while the British royal family is understandably said to be not quite as excited about the explosive new episodes as the rest of the public, there were reports about some members watching it.
However, Prince William and his disliking for his family history’s dramatization on the show continues as Vanity Fair revealed in a report that the future king has “no desire” to watch it.
Katie Nicholls described in the publication that the Duke of Cambridge is not interested in watching “his baby years unfold” on the bombshell series which is a "fictitious depiction of the breakdown of his parents’ marriage, as well as his baby years."
Apart from that, the magazine cited sources close to Prince Charles, saying: “Many royal historians and experts have dismissed it as fiction but Netflix is playing a dangerous game. They’re making money out of characterizing people who work hard for the nation.”
“If people are using the series as a textbook for royal history that’s troublesome. Netflix has a duty to be upfront about its programming and the producers should be more honest about what is fact and what is fiction,” they said.
“It’s not the first drama about a difficult chapter but a bit more honesty on the program makers’ part about it being a drama wouldn’t go amiss,” the insider added.

After their official separation in 1992, Prince Charles and Princess Diana both admitted to having extramarital relationships in interviews. In season 4 of The Crown, Charles and Diana's marital straying becomes an open secret within the royal family. When speaking to Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman), Princess Anne (Erin Doherty) lists Diana's alleged affairs—including one with her bodyguard. Though The Crown only devotes a throwaway sentence to Diana's relationship with her bodyguard Barry Mannakee, it was a much bigger deal in her life. Unlike Diana's well-documented affair with Major James Hewitt, though, questions remain about the nature of her bond with Mannakee. This much is for sure: The duo was definitely close. In private tapes recorded with Diana's voice coach, Peter Settelen, and released after her death, Diana described her relationship with an unnamed bodyguard, whom she called the "greatest love" she ever had. Diana said she was "deeply in love" with this man, and would have been "quite happy to give all this up and to just go off and live with him. And he kept saying he thought it was a good idea too." Though Diana never mentions Mannakee by name in the tapes, the biographical details align: She said she met him at 24, the age she was when Mannakee was assigned to be her bodyguard, and that he died in a motorbike accident, just as Mannakee did in 1987. This is what to know about the great love that The Crown never shows. Barry Mannakee was assigned to be Diana's bodyguard in 1985. It was 1985, and Princess Di needed a new bodyguard, as her Chief Inspector Graham Smith was leaving his post. In The Diana Chronicles, Tina Brown describes the qualities considered during the search: "What kind of man do you cast to guard a beautiful and unhappy young princess? Someone very strong, very sane, and very married. Someone who could steer her out of trouble."

The Crown's fourth season reminded royal watchers of one of Princess Diana's most loved stunts: her surprise dance performance of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" at the Royal Opera House. It was a night her dance partner, Wayne Sleep, remembers well. The dancer and choreographer opened up to Vulture about the whole experience, from agreeing to be a part of Diana's secret plan to bringing "the house down with humor" the night of. "She said, 'I’d like to dance a duet with you,'" Sleep said of the Princess's proposition. "I thought she must be crazy! It could be taken the wrong way, or she could get a much taller and more handsome boy from the ballet. But she was insistent and said, 'No, I want to do it with you, I want to be your uptown girl.' I was like, 'You already are my uptown girl, darling, and you know it!' She told me she got a recording of Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” and she wanted it to be a surprise to her hubby for Christmas. She didn’t want him to know about it." Sleep, of course, was a professional—but the Princess didn't disappoint, either. "When Diana walked on after I did my turns and jumps, she strode in like a tigress," he said. "We only did one rehearsal that day on a closed set... She couldn’t have danced it better. I was the nervous one! I was shaking in the wings. What if she doesn’t like it? What if I dropped the future Queen of England?" As for the audience's reaction, it was an overwhelming hit—after they realized it was really the Princess of Wales onstage, that is. "Then, collectively, they all realized who it really was. Everyone’s mouths gaped open. There was an intake of breath like they couldn’t believe it. The noise got bigger and bigger. We did eight curtain calls. I had to bow every time and I was like, 'You got to bow to the Prince.' And she said, 'No, I’m not bowing to him, he’s my hubby. You won’t get your OBE with those comments!'"

The relationships between Prince Charles, Princess Diana and Camilla Parker Bowles are explored in the Crown Season 4. One of the most famous and controversial love stories of our time.
In 1995, Diana agreed to a BBC One Panorama interview with BBC journalist Martin Bashir. The interview itself was controversial as Diana discussed her eating disorder, extramarital affairs, and Prince Charles’ relationship with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
During the interview, Diana famously said “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, alleged that Bashir used forged bank statements to convince Diana to do the interview. BBC has since launched an independent investigation into the interview.
On Nov. 19, Kensington Palace said in a statement that Prince William “tentatively welcomed the investigation.”
“The independent investigation is a step in the right direction,” William said in the statement. “It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time.”

The latest season of the Netflix series The Crown has been significantly popular with the introduction of new characters, including the late Princess Diana, and Britain’s first female prime minister Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson.
A polarizing figure in British politics, Thatcher is the inspiration for a now-viral sketch created by Lisa Beasley, a comedian from Chicago.
The 34-year-old told BuzzFeed News: “I wanted to have fun, I watched The Crown before I went to bed and I just couldn’t get over Gillian Anderson’s portrayal. I woke up making myself laugh by mimicking her portrayal before I even got out of bed. It was when I remembered that I have a few costumes from past bits I’ve done and all I needed was the wig.”
Following a trip to a local beauty supply store, Beasley completed her look as she continued to perfect her performance of Britain’s Iron Lady by practicing on friends. Then she decided to put together her first sketch for her followers.
In her video, which has now been viewed more than 1.8 million times on Twitter, Beasley slowly curtseys for “the queen” for what feels like an eternity as the camera pans to a Vogue cover of Beyoncé, with the magazine tucked into a pair of Adidas sweatpants.
“Your subjects do not understand that of your leisurewear, your Majesty. Is it for working out or going out?” questions Beasley.
