One Desire - "Shadowman" - Official Music Video
Finnish hard rockers, One Desire, have released a video for "Shadowman", the opening track of their upcoming second album, Midnight Empire, out on May 22 via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch the clip below, and pre-order/save the album here.
One Desire released their self-titled debut to massive acclaim. With a true hit single, "Hurt" (nearly 2 million views on YouTube, 3 million streams on Spotify) the band found their way to the forefront of the melodic rock scene. A couple of successful European tours with Eclipse and H.E.A.T were followed by more dates and festivals through the end of 2017, before the band headed back to the studio to start work on their sophomore release.
In the works for a little over two years, the resulting album Midnight Empire generously repays the long wait the fans have had to suffer for new music from the band. It’s a more mature, at times adventurous, album, but still with an unbelievable hookiness that fans know and love from the debut. This is simply your album of the year if you like, no LOVE melodic rock. It’s going to be quite impossible to top this.
The VOLTURIAN - the modern metal band founded by singer Federica Lanna ( SLEEPING ROMANCE ) and songwriter Federico Mondelli ( FROZEN CROWN ) - have released the video for "Broken," the new single from the debut album "Crimson", due on next April 24 on Scarlet Records.
Released during the quarantine of March 2020, the video expresses, through cold and obsessive atmospheres and individual shots of the individual components, the concepts of separation and distance, the theme of the lyrics of the song, and incidentally a mirror of the current situation. This is the video for "Broken":
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Andrea Fusini at the Fusix Studio, "Crimson" is also graced by a sublime cover created by Federico Mondelli himself .Tracklist and cover below:
1. Crimson Dust 2. New Life 3. Haunting Symphony 4. Broken 5. The Killing Joke 6. In a Heartbeat (with Jade "Jade" Etro from Frozen Crown) 7. Between the Sleepers 8. Days Before You Died 9. Forevermore 10. Fading Like a Flower (Roxette cover)
Last year, L.A. GUNS' Tracii Guns and STRYPER's Michael Sweet announced that they were collaborating on a new metal project called SUNBOMB. The band, which apparently also features former L.A. GUNS drummer Shane Fitzgibbon, recently recorded its debut album, to be released via Frontiers Music Srl.
During an appearance earlier today (Tuesday, May 5) on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation", Guns stated about the musical direction of SUNBOMB: "I love black metal. I love black metal more than I love a lot of other things. Because black metal has a certain element of Randy Rhoads in it that people might not really identify that, but I always have. There's something about the double picking and the way the chords are structured and the weight of the music.
"The SUNBOMB record is really kind of like [L.A. GUNS' 2019 album] 'The Devil You Know' times three," he continued. "It's more on the heavy side of 'The Devil You Know' album. And Michael Sweet, he's a really fantastic metal singer."
When host Eddie Trunk pointed out to Guns that Sweet — being the frontman of the most successful openly Christian hard rock band of all time — is likely not much of a black metal fan, Tracii corrected him: "I think he is." The guitarist went on to say that he and Michael are able to work together without butting heads about religion or politics. "You have the biggest non-believer and the biggest believer," he said. "But that's the kind of guys we are — I'm able to separate the beliefs from the music; they're not one and the same. And Michael and I have talked about it. I'm an open-minded person and I respect [other people's perspectives]."
When Tracii first broke the news of SUNBOMB's existence in a March 2019 tweet, he described the project's debut LP as "the metal record I would have made when I was 17 years old."
A short time later, Sweet responded to Tracii's tweet, writing: "I'm excited to be a part of it Tracii. Who would have thought when we were young that we'd be working together. Thank you for trusting me with the vocal duties SUNBOMB is gonna be Bomb."
L.A. GUNS, featuring singer Phil Lewis and guitarist Tracii Guns, has just released a new single, "Let You Down". The song was written and recorded this past month while the band is in the midst of work on its next studio album. The band was so struck by the song that it felt the need to release it immediately rather than sit on it for the next studio album. It may or may not appear on said album.
Of the song, Phil says: "This is our new single, 'Let You Down', a deep haunting work and words from a tormented soul. It was recorded during quarantine, so Tracii laid down his guitar tracks in Denmark, I did my vocals at home in Las Vegas, and Adam Hamilton played drums and mixed it in L.A. Under normal circumstances, it would have been recorded in a more traditional way, but somehow the isolation adds to the atmosphere of this very cool song. I'm sure you're going to love it. Cheers."
Tracii adds: "This song just appeared at the right time, while we were writing and recording on different continents. Also, we won't be performing anytime soon and it seems like the type of song that our fans can hold on to for awhile."
L.A. GUNS is currently writing and recording songs for a new studio album, tentatively due in late 2020 or early 2021 via Frontiers Music Srl. This will be the third studio album since the much welcome reunion of the band's core foundation of Lewis and Guns. It will follow the well received studio albums "The Missing Peace" and "The Devil You Know", plus the live release "Made In Milan", and a covers EP "Another Xmas In Hell".
