I feel damn good about STRATOVARIUS singer Timo Kotipelto's rushing voice even though the flu has been going on for more than four weeks, and there was the possibility of its negative effects.
- During all this time I was not able to play sports, but I have not been able to do it properly or else I would get some rest. Fortunately, the disease has not affected the song.
STRATOVARIUS is running a mini-tour, where the band plays totally classic album, Visions. Last Friday, Oulu started the tour has been a success: the gigs have been praised by fans and critics, and Tavastia gig was sold out in advance.
Visions tour ends this Saturday A Hard Days Night Part 2 event in Atlantic City hall, which also occur in Amorphis Stratovarius, Turisas, and Blockbuster. At the same time Stratovarius correct the injustice that has passed through the band throughout its 32-year history through.
- Stratovarius has never played in Kuopio, Finland. Now, the error will be corrected.
The idea of the Visions tour slowly began to Kotipelto and other members in a couple of years, when a fan presented it to the band.
- We were not then prepared for such a tour. The Nemesis tour last year was a success and the band was surrounded by a nice boost while that we wanted to domestic gigs this autumn.
Visions that was released 17 years ago was an absolute masterpiece and power metal style to a classic valued by, for example, the German Rock Hard magazine has brought the 300's all-time best rock-disc set.
The album was recorded Stratovarius classical configuration, which was also Kotipelto, keyboardist Jens Johansson, guitarist Timo Tolkki, who also composed the whole Visions and on other major part of the band's songs, bassist Jari Kainulainen and drummer Jörg Michael. That quintet is no longer associated with Kotipelto and Johansson.
The guitar is now Matias Kupiainen , bass Lauri Porra and drums only 26 years old Rolf Pilve. Kotipelto admits that some of the band's most committed fans has been a year of consolidation in the current configuration, and also Tolkki is hoped that the Visions configuration would make yet another album and possibly tour.
Kotipelto has not directly brought up the idea, but does not see the possibility of this to happen, not least since the Jörg Michael started focusing on selling the band's gigs abroad.
- The band's lineup has changed, but the old Stratovarius songs work really well with this lineup. Thank you for the honor of all these great songs!
After the gig trip to Russia, Stratovarius retreats to write new songs. The band will be back in the studio next year.
- We already have an album of songs, of which perhaps one is good enough, and the rest of the bad, Kotipelto laughs.
- Recordable enough, but at this stage of my career is no longer in a hurry. Block with respect to the first plate is high.
