EVANESCENCE has released a new single called "Better Without You". It is the next single from the band's upcoming album, "The Bitter Truth", which will arrive on March 26 via BMG. An "F-you" to the forces that have attempted to hold her back, "Better Without You" is bandleader Amy Lee's unapologetic declaration of independence. With mammoth vocals and a metal heart, the song follows previous singles "Wasted On You" and "Use My Voice". "Better Without You" was teased with an interactive digital puzzle that fans were challenged to solve in order to hear a snippet of the song. "The Bitter Truth" is EVANESCENCE's first album of original music in ten years, and its songs have already earned accolades from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Elle, Billboard, and many more. Fans can pre-order a "The Bitter Truth" digital version, CD, vinyl and a limited-edition deluxe fan box set featuring a bonus CD, journal, poster and special cassette of exclusive audio from the making of "The Bitter Truth". Every pre-order will automatically come with downloads of already-released songs "Wasted On You", "The Game Is Over", and "Use My Voice", as well as "Yeah Right". "The Bitter Truth" is an epic, guitar-driven collection inspired by the (often-bitter) realities of the 21st Century and our world. The already-released songs have received early accolades from Elle, Billboard, SPIN, American Songwriter, and more, and showcase the "ferocious and hymnal" (The New York Times) sound that made EVANESCENCE a household name, as well as the drama and powerhouse vocals that made Amy Lee "one of rock's definitive voices" (Rolling Stone). http://instagram.com/p/CMU-57Xh920 EVANESCENCE's new music was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who also worked on 2011's self-titled LP. On the topic of "The Bitter Truth" album title, Lee previously told Rock Sound: "As the lyrics had started to form, and just my feeling in this moment in general, there's a big theme of disillusionment for me. Just growing up and seeing that fairy tales aren't really real. And it's hard to be a grownup — it really is. Because somebody else isn't in charge, we really have to be able to make our own decisions, find out our own information, protect ourselves. People die — we're all going to. There's no magic castle. So that sounds like a lot of doom and gloom when I say it, but there's a choice to accept that truth and live in it and embrace it and choose to live and choose to live in a moment, and the choice to just give up. And there's a struggle there, but my choice is most definitely to take that pill."

Evanescence "Better Without You" Lyrics [Verse 1] Stand in the front but shut up 'til I tell you to go Don't get caught up and pretend 'cause you're not in control 'Cause this is my world, little girl, you'd been lost on your own Just hating and waiting and saving up
[Verse 2] I'll do you a favor and save you if you sign on the line Don't worry your pretty little head about the future, it's all fine Whether you're wrong or you're right, doesn't matter, you're not up to the fight Keeping my head down 'Cause they don't know what I know now
[Chorus] As empires fall to pieces Our ashes twisting in the air It makes me smile to know that I'm better without you
[Verse 3] Now look around and remember your friends if you can Feeding the flames 'til there's no one to blame, it's on your hands Lost in your lies, pay the price with our their lives, you've gone mad And there's no way out 'Cause we all know you're hollow
[Chorus] As empires fall to pieces Our ashes twisting in the air It makes me smile to know that I'm better without you
[Bridge] Not enough, not enough Not enough to throw it all away We'd still be falling We're fallen Turn it up, turn it up Never gonna shut me up again Your time is over It's over now
[Chorus] As empires fall to pieces Our ashes twisting in the air It makes me smile to know that I'm, I'm better without you
"As the lyrics had started to form, and just my feeling in this moment in general, there's a big theme of disillusionment for me,” Lee tells Rock Sound of The Bitter Truth. “Just growing up and seeing that fairy tales aren't really real. And it's hard to be a grownup — it really is. Because somebody else isn't in charge, we really have to be able to make our own decisions, find out our own information, protect ourselves.”
“People die — we're all going to. There's no magic castle. So that sounds like a lot of doom and gloom when I say it, but there's a choice to accept that truth and live in it and embrace it and choose to live and choose to live in a moment, and the choice to just give up. And there's a struggle there, but my choice is most definitely to take that pill."

Amy Lee has shared an acoustic cover of Tenacious D’s “Kyle Quit The Band” on social media. The track had first been released by Tenacious D in 2001, with Lee sharing her cover on her Instagram story then uploading it onto Youtube.
Lee sat on her couch, the camera propped up above her as she strummed her acoustic guitar and joyfully singing the song’s lyrics. “Last week, Kyle quit the band/Now we’re back together/Misunderstanding/Didn’t understand/It doesn’t matter/Now we’re back together again.” Her guitar matches the original, her upbeat vocals reflecting the song’s humorous lyrics.
With her band Evanescence, Lee recently released the single “Better Without You.” The track is set to appear on Evanescence’s upcoming album Bitter Truth, which will be released on March 26 via BMG. The album also carries the singles “Yeah Right,” “Use My Voice,” “The Game Is Over” and “Wasted On You.” In December, the band hosted a livestream at Rock Falcon Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, where they recorded their upcoming album.
“Kyle Quit The Band” first appeared on Tenacious D’s self-titled debut album in 2001. Led by Jack Black, the song carries much of the comedian and musician’s humor. Tenacious D recently shared a cover of Rocky Horror Picture Show’s “Time Warp,” and they played at the Planned Parenthood Benefit Village of Love back in October.

"Echoes From The Void" is a fantasy graphic anthology series, comprised of 48-page deluxe comic books, each featuring two or more story adaptations from the EVANESCENCE catalog. Beginning with story themes based on songs from their upcoming March 26 release "The Bitter Truth" (BMG), and culminating in revisiting iconic material from throughout the band's career, the project is comprised of a series of short stories created by an all-star cast of graphic artists, animators, illustrators, fine artists, screenwriters, novelists, and more. Combining bandleader Amy Lee's love of visual arts, fantasy-inspired graphics, and graphic novels with the narrative power of EVANESCENCE's music, the series is being developed in close collaboration with Amy as she oversees the creative direction of the art and stories. "Echoes From The Void" begins as a five-issue series, with each issue containing stories based on two or more of EVANESCENCE's songs, presented in a variety of visual styles and mediums. Issue #1, available in limited-edition, includes two stories inspired by the songs "Better Without You" and "Wasted On You", from "The Bitter Truth", with tales written by Carrie Lee South and Blake Northcott ("Arena Mode" saga, DC's "Catwoman"). The issue will feature illustrations from Hugo Award-winning artist Abigail Larson and highly esteemed painter Kelly McKernan. The first print edition of each issue will be released as a prestige format limited-edition collectible comic book, with cardstock covers, specialty foil treatments, glossy pages, and individual numbering. Each first printing will be limited to 3,000 copies priced at $18.95, and available to order from this location. The first issue is available to order now and ships in June 2021. The art of "Echoes From The Void" will also be made available to purchase through a series of archival fine art prints, the first of which is illustrated by Kelly McKernan. Incorporating symbols and themes from across the band's discography into an intricate traditionally painted work that also debuts a mysterious original character, the print features a blue tint glow in the dark base with a luminous pink UV active overlay, as part of an individually numbered 500-piece collection.
