BLACKPINK’s Rosé has just made K-pop history in the United Kingdom! On March 19 local time, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts announced that Rosé’s solo debut track “On The Ground” had entered the Official Singles Chart at No. 43 for the week of March 19 to March 25. With this historic chart debut, Rosé has become the first female K-pop soloist ever to land on the Official Singles Chart, which ranks the most popular songs in the United Kingdom. (The Official Charts are often regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts.) BLACKPINK previously made history as the first K-pop girl group ever to enter the Official Singles Chart with “DDU-DU DDU-DU” back in 2018. In the years since, they have landed a number of other hits on the chart, including “Kill This Love,” “How You Like That,” “Ice Cream,” and “Lovesick Girls.”

If you’ve followed K-beauty since the beginning of its explosion in the U.S., perhaps you’ve heard of Hera. The brand is owned by beauty giant, AmorePacific and while you’ve probably seen its cushion compacts, it’s never actually been officially available to the American consumer. That however, is finally changing, and the brand has brought Hera’s ambassador (since 2019) stateside for the big launch — Blackpink’s Jennie Kim. Hera is making its debut on Amazon, not with skin care or cushion compacts, but with four exquisitely designed lip products. “As a leading Seoul-based beauty brand across Asian markets, Hera and AmorePacific received continuous requests from their global consumer to make the brand available in the United States, particularly via the Amazon community,” the brand said in an email to press. “This, along with the brand’s awareness and reach continuing to grow, helped in the decision-making of both when and which outlet the brand would be available on.” Hera is a luxury line and these products show it — the packaging alone makes them worthy of prime vanity real estate. And while each item comes in a wide array of shades, Kim divulged her favorites, so you can shop her way, too. Finally, if you’re not in the market for lip products but are curious about this classic K-beauty brand, the wait won’t be long for more. On April 22, the offerings will expand to include foundation, skin care, and even more lip color.

The ladies of BLACKPINK are all branching out on their own these days. The latest BP cruiser is Lisa, who joined NCT's Ten for a choreography lesson before she ran her team through a cover of Way V's new single "Kick Back" on the Chinese singing competition Youth With You, where she serves as a mentor. Lisa studiously looked and learned as Ten taught her the choreo in an Instagram clip that has racked up more than six million views in just three days. WayV, NCT's Chinese sub-group, released the uptempo "Kick Back" in March as the title track to their third mini-album. http://instagram.com/p/COVEJShjQWq On the show, the five-member Team Lisa perform to the bouncy "Kick Back" on a futuristic soundstage, ripping off the intricately coordinated dance steps as the BLACKPINK singer danced along from another green screen room. The members of BLACKPINK have been stretching their solo legs lately, with Rosé recently taking over Billboard's Instagram account, where her dog Hank stole the show, as well as dropping the solo single "On the Ground" from solo project -R-. Jennie also took time to shout out their Blinks during her "Solo" vlog in the band's "The Show" virtual concert in February.

We are looking back at March 2021, when BLACKPINK alum Lisa opened up about being selected as a jury member on ANDAM Fashion Awards, the band’s first online concert, her personality and much more. In an interview with Elle Korea, the singer and fashionista was asked about the girls’ first-ever online concert called The Show, and Lisa shared, “There’s the excitement we feel from meeting fans holding light sticks in person, but we weren’t able to do that this time. However, since the physical limitations were small compared to going on tours abroad, we were able to showcase high quality stage equipment and angles.” Reflecting on her personality, the musician stated: “Feeling happiness for oneself is important. That’s the reason why I try not to hide myself and showcase myself without lies.” She elaborated, “According to my family and longtime friends, I was bright and mischievous since a young age.” While concluding the chat, Lisa also expressed her feeling on being selected for the jury of the 2021 ANDAM Fashion Awards. She shared, “I think the fashion industry may see me as one person among the new generation. I’m really looking forward to it.” For the unversed, since their debut in 2016, Blackpink has achieved many accomplishments — they were the first-ever K-pop group to perform at Coachella in 2019, are the only South Korean group to have 1 billion views for three of their music videos on YouTube and the group even recently became the first all-female group to lead the Billboard Artist 100!
