Prince Philip’s funeral will be held next Saturday afternoon at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace said on Saturday, and just 30 guests will attend. Prince Harry will fly from the U.S. to attend but his wife, Meghan, who is expecting a baby this summer, didn’t receive medical clearance from her physician. The pair gave a bombshell interview just weeks ago in which they accused Buckingham Palace and family members of icing them out and tolerating racism. Prince Philip had approved his own funeral arrangements years ago but they had to be revised considerably due to the coronavirus pandemic. He will lie in rest at the private chapel in Windsor Castle until the day of the funeral, when his coffin will be driven to St George’s Chapel in a custom Landrover partially designed by Philip. There will be one-minute national silence when the coffin arrives at the Chapel, ITV reports.

The death of Prince Philip has left a “huge void” in Queen Elizabeth II’s life, their son Prince Andrew said Sunday, as Princess Anne paid tribute to her father as “my teacher, my supporter and my critic.”
As hundreds well-wishers continued to leave floral tributes outside the gates of royal residences in memory of the monarch’s husband, Anne — Philip and the queen’s only daughter — said her father “leaves a legacy which can inspire us all.”
“You know it’s going to happen but you are never really ready,” Anne said of Philip’s death on Friday, at the age of 99.
In a message released by Buckingham Palace, Anne praised Philip’s “ability to treat every person as an individual in their own right with their own skills,” a nod to the many charities and other organizations he was involved with.
“I would like to emphasize how much the family appreciate the messages and memories of so many people whose lives he also touched,” she said. “We will miss him, but he leaves a legacy which can inspire us all.”
Andrew, the third of Philip and the queen’s four children, attended church at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Castle along with other members of the royal family.
Andrew said his mother “described it as having left a huge void in her life.”
“We’ve lost, almost, the grandfather of the nation,” he said. “And I feel very sorry and supportive of my mother, who’s feeling it probably more than everybody else.”
His younger brother, Prince Edward, called Philip’s death a “dreadful shock” but said the 94-year-old queen was “bearing up.”
Edward’s wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex said the monarch was “thinking of others before herself.”

Prince Philip reportedly thought that his grandson Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive Oprah Winfrey interview was “madness.” Philip, who died Friday at age 99, also felt that “no good would come of” the early March tell-all, his biographer Gyles Brandreth wrote Sunday in the Daily Mail. Markle sent shockwaves through the Royal household when she claimed during the interview that undisclosed members of the family expressed concern of the color of son Archie’s skin. “I know from someone close to him that he thought Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was ‘madness’ and ‘no good would come of it,’ ” Brandreth wrote, referring to The Duke of Edinburgh. “I was not surprised because that is exactly how he described to me the personal TV interviews given by Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, back in the 1990s” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey aired while Philip was hospitalized.
