TWICE has revealed a video of the choreography for their latest single “Cry For Me“! Dressed in white from top to bottom, TWICE showcases their perfect synchronization in the JYP Entertainment practice room. The members give it their all as if they were performing in front of an audience, and they mesmerize the fans with their powerful and smooth moves. After a major year where they hit new sales highs, cracked the Billboard 200 albums chart, scored their first U.S. television performance and continued their reign as one of Asia’s brightest stars, TWICE is closing out 2020 with a present for fans. After a surprise reveal of the new song “Cry for Me” at their performance at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards in early December, the K-pop girl group rushed ahead to answer fans’ demand for the new song. The emotional pop cut brings together some of the biggest hitmakers from both sides of the world including J.Y. Park (Korea’s legendary producer who founded TWICE’s label home), Ryan Tedder (the Grammy-winning songwriter-producer and OneRepublic vocalist), hitmaking couple Melanie Fontana and Michel 'Lindgren' Schulz (who have worked on hits for TWICE as well as BTS, Britney Spears and BLACKPINK), Korea’s R&B chart-topper Heize and more. Regarding their newest collaborator in Tedder, TWICE tells me in an exclusive statement that “It was a great pleasure and an honor for us to work with Ryan Tedder [and] his understanding of music was tremendous for TWICE.” With already a slew of number-one hits in Korea and Japan, TWICE beginning to expand their collaborator pool with more international names makes full sense. While the ninesome consisting of Korean, Japanese and Taiwanese members may have not been one of K-pop’s most obvious pick to venture towards international crossover, TWICE slowly adding more English songs to their repertoire (including new versions of their singles “More & More” and “I Can’t Stop Me”) and increasingly connecting with new collaborators (Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, LDN Noise and MNEK all have credits on TWICE’s 2020 albums) is creating the solid foundation for the group to continually increase their impact. http://instagram.com/p/CJAXDSTLqLi While there’s no official word on what album or release “Cry for Me” will accompany just yet, TWICE’s most recent LP Eyes wide open currently sits at No. 72 on the Billboard 200 this week to mark their highest entry on the chart yet and first time cracking the Top 100. The feat makes TWICE just the third K-pop girl group to break into the upper echelon of the chart. http://instagram.com/p/CI26GJ7F06A

TWICE’s Eyes Wide Open has entered the Billboard 200! The group’s second Korean full album Eyes Wide Open came out on October 26 and features the title track I CAN’T STOP ME. The physical album was released in the United States earlier this month. On the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending December 19, Eyes Wide Open debuts at No. 72. TWICE’s previous highest ranking on the chart was No. 200, which they achieved with MORE & MORE in June. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States. Eyes Wide Open is also No. 2 on Billboard’s World Albums chart and No. 12 on the Top Album Sales chart, while TWICE has reached a new peak on the Artist 100 as they grab No. 73. The group is at No. 15 on the Social 50 chart. Congratulations to TWICE! http://instagram.com/p/CI-JpRJr5Hu In case you missed it, in June, TWICE released their song More & More which created quite a buzz. The peppy soundtrack put fans in a vibrant state of mind, especially the lead single, More & More. While the lyrics for the track were penned by J. Y. Park and BIBI, the music was composed by Uzoechi Emenike (MNEK), Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and Zara Larsson. The music video for More & More dropped alongside the EP release and it was as beautiful as you would expect it to be. The nine members - Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu - were seen embracing nature for its innate beauty while singing about the eccentricities of being in a relationship and the temptation for wanting more and more. Fans got to see each member show off their gorgeous vocals with dance moves that have left us mighty impressed. Moreover, it's the dance break that cames in between was the most powerful and one that suited their fans’ wildest dreams.

On the cover to their new studio album Eyes Wide Open, TWICE evokes a sharp contrast with their first studio release, 2017’s Twicestagram. The aesthetics that defined their debut – school notebook doodles, the bright colors and youthful yearning of songs like “Like OOH AHH” and “Knock Knock,” the music video of which was conceived as a slumber party between the nine members – have evolved.
TWICE, once described pejoratively as the cute, bubblegum girl group are clad in retro suits as if on their way to an important board meeting at Blockbuster, LLC in the year 1997. They’ve an impressive latitude in their discography, one that can transition from these cute overall aesthetics to a mature vibe without using any easy shorthands for growth, and without losing the joy that characterized their early discography.
