Derek Chauvin jotted down his lawyer’s phone number on his hand ahead of his Tuesday conviction for killing George Floyd, a new report said. Chauvin’s lawyer, Eric Nelson, confirmed with TMZ that his client wrote down the number in anticipation of having his bail revoked — which it was — following the guilty verdicts on all charges. In a photograph showing Chauvin being escorted in handcuffs by an officer after the ruling, writing can be seen on the former cop’s left palm. Chauvin faces a maximum of 40 years in prison for the May 2020 death of Floyd. He was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. The ex-cop knelt on Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes during an arrest on a Minneapolis street.
