There's no one like Mom! Taylor Swift gave her mother, Andrea, a heartwarming shoutout after her music video for "The Best Day (Taylor's Version)" won the trophy for best family feature at the 2021 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday (June 9).
"I LOVE YOU MOM," Swift declared on Twitter in response to the CMT account's announcement of her victory shortly before the live ceremony began. The visual for her re-recorded song from Fearless (Taylor's Version) follows the life of the 11-time Grammy winner, with sweet family videos showing various moments of her life with her loved ones as she grows up. Andrea is featured in many of the clips.
The CMT's announced the best family feature category just days ahead of the show. It celebrates the year's most emotional videos that focus on country star's loved ones. This year's other finalists in the category were Brook Eden's "Sunroof," Kane Brown's "Worship You," Luke Combs' "Forever After All," Miranda Lambert's "Settling Down," and Russel Dickerson's "Home Sweet." As with the rest of the categories for the CMT Music Awards, fans voted to determine the victor.
This year's ceremony was hosted by Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini, and was streamed live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

She’s a Barbie girl in a country world! Kelsea Ballerini was the epitome of girl power at the 2021 CMT Awards on Wednesday, June 9, shutting down the red carpet in an all-pink ensemble. The 27-year-old singer, who is hosting the awards show alongside Kane Brown, rocked a pink pleather jumpsuit from LaQuan Smith. With piping around the knees and bustier-like top, Ballerini looked straight out of a Barbie dream house — and she knew it! “Peace, love & pink pleather ✨💖✌🏼 tune into the @cmt awards TONIGHT,” she captioned her Instagram, showing off her glam for the evening. The look was obviously a hit, with the comments section exploding in seconds. Brandi Cyrus wrote, “LOOOVE this look!!” The CMT official account echoed the sentiment: “THIS. LOOK. IS. EVERYTHING.” Fans were equally as obsessed with her pink power suit. “Barbie has entered the chat,” one of her followers said. Another added: “Barbie meets Britney vibes🙌🏼💕.” Country Music’s Blonde Bombshells: Carrie Underwood, More And as a matter of fact, Britney Spears actually played a pretty big role in Ballerini’s evening. The “Miss Me More” singer took to Instagram Stories while she was getting glam to show her and Tarryn Feldman, her hairstylist and makeup artist, jamming out to “Toxic.” With the exception of a dance break or two, the pair were hard at work pulling Ballerini’s look together. To prep the skin, Feldman started off with Noble Panacea skincare. And, when it came to makeup, KISS was her go-to! A quick peek at Feldman’s Instagram Stories, and it appears she used the KISS Lash Glue Liner as well as the KISS My Lash But Better Lashes. As for her hair? Feldman went with loose waves and two face-framing braids. Country Music’s Hottest Hunks: Blake Shelton, Kane Brown and More While fans were understandably obsessed with Ballerini’s look, it’s no surprise that the star, who won the CMT Performance of the Year for “The Other Girl,” a collab with Halsey, brought her best the red carpet. She’s quite the stylish star! At the 56th Annual ACM Awards in April, she stunned in a monochromatic emerald green look. The “Country Song” singer coordinated her custom Dolce & Gabbana gown with her eyeshadow, rocking a sparkly smoky eye. At the 2020 CMTs, the “Hole in the Bottle” star also sparkled, slipping into a vintage Tom Ford sequin mini dress.

Kelsea Ballerini was a host and a winner at Wednesday night’s CMT Awards. “Extra” special correspondent Alecia Davis was with the star before she hit the stage with co-host Kane Brown, and they talked about the show, Carly Pearce’s recent comments about their friendship… and how Kelsea was a big fan of the Jonas Brothers as a kid! Kelsea Ballerini is ready for her fashion moment. For country fans, the chart-topping 27-year-old singer is a household name, but last night as she hosted the annual CMT Music Awards, Ballerini appealed to the catwalk crowd via daring outfits from designers like LaQuan Smith and Elie Saab. The playful palette of candy shades, chosen by Ballerini and stylist Molly Dickson, added to the evening’s spirited vibe and allowed the star to step outside her comfort zone. “We wanted to lean into bright pops of color to capture the summertime party-esque feel of the show,” shared Ballerini post-event. “Fashion is another creative outlet and way of expressing myself. The way I dress depends on the day and the mood I’m in—that’s the fun of it all.” Playing emcee had Ballerini feeling exceptionally upbeat. The gig was a special opportunity to celebrate the talents of her peers and showcase another side of her persona. “Hosting lets me be a fan as well as an artist,” says Ballerini. “I get to do what I do, then wear a sick outfit to introduce amazing artists’ performances and stand side stage starry-eyed and pretend I’m still sixteen. I love nurturing that part of me and just being surrounded by the music I find inspiring.” A longtime watcher of the CMTs, Ballerini found herself reminiscing while she was getting ready to hit the stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. “I grew up finding inspiration in videos on CMT and MTV,” she says. “Celebrating that art form and visual extension of music is exciting, [and] being a part of Nashville’s music community has been a warm hug. Hosting a show I grew up watching is a full-circle moment, something I will remember for a long time.” The event’s focus on the audience added to that feeling. “This is the only award show in country music that is voted on by the fans, so it feels special,” says Ballerini. “The farther I venture into my career, the more I realize how the relationship with the fans is everything.”

Carrie Underwood remains the CMT Music Awards queen! The 38-year-old singer kept her title as the most awarded performer in CMT Music Awards history at the awards show on Wednesday night -- and thanked John Legend for the help.
Before this year's show Underwood had racked up 22 trophies. On Wednesday, she was nominated for two more awards -- Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year -- for her "Hallelujah" duet with John Legend. The pair took home Video of the Year, giving Legend his first CMT Music Award. This is Underwood's ninth time winning Video of the Year and third year in a row.
"Fans, thank you so much, fans," Underwood said while accepting the awards show's most prestigious honor. "You guys, you are the reason we are all here doing what we do, doing what we love, making music videos."
"John legend, thank you for sending me this incredible song and agreeing to sing with me on it and making this incredible video that I am so proud of, and congratulations on what I think is your first CMT Award!" she continued, also thanking those behind the scenes of the music video. "God bless you guys. Thank you so much! Thank you, fans! Thank you, CMT!"

Underwood opened up about the possibility of breaking her own record for most CMT Award wins while speaking with ET last Friday.
"It's such a beautiful song and it's such a beautiful video and I'm just really proud that it was nominated. We'll see what happens,"she said. "I get to perform on the show with NEEDTOBREATHE, so I'm excited about that. And it's just a fun night."
Underwood first broke the record for most CMT Music Award wins in 2019 and opened up to ET about what the historic moment meant to her shortly after.
"My husband was like, 'Oh my gosh, your fans like to vote,' and I was like, 'Well, that's how I'm here in the first place. They've been voting for me since day one. Since I was on American Idol. So they know the drill," the Idol alum recalled. "I constantly have people telling me they voted for me on Idol, and that was 14 years ago. So now there's people that are like, 'Ever since I was a little kid, I would vote for you.'"
