Baby, now we got “Bad Blood.” Following nine days of hype in the form of 18 individual character posters, Taylor Swift unveiled her epic video for “Bad Blood” at the start of the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. Starring a surfeit of big names – including Swift, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Cara Delevingne, Jessica Alba, Cindy Crawford, Ellen Pompeo and Mariska Hargitay – the “Bad Blood” video focuses on what happens when Swift’s Catastrophe is double-crossed by Gomez’s Arsyn and subsequently seeks revenge. It’s a motif that fits with the song, which Swift said she wrote about another popular female artist after a dispute over back-up dancers. (Many presume “Bad Blood” is about Katy Perry, but Swift has often said she won’t talk about their relationship.) “Bad Blood” is the fourth video Swift has released from her smash-hit album 1989, following “Shake It Off,” “Style” and “Blank Space.” Like “Blank Space,” it was directed by Joseph Kahn, who said on Twitter that he was editing the new clip up until the last minute. Swift began announcing cast members for “Bad Blood” on May 7, and she told each star to pick his or her own name for their characters. It’s a twist that allowed some individual personality to sneak into the proceedings. “I’m obsessed with Beyoncé,” Gigi Hadid, who plays Slay-Z in “Bad Blood,” told PEOPLE. “It’s a play on Jay Z and using the word ‘slay’ … because slay. Hashtag-slay!”

Thank goodness last night's Billboard Music Awards opened with the premiere of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video because let's be honest—the world couldn't have waited much longer (there was seriously that much hype). All the cameos from Taylor's high-powered posse of pals meant there were a ton of different outfits and, spoiler alert, every single one was pretty sexy. The video opened with so much action that we didn't get a good look at Taylor's first outfit until she got pushed through a window. With a nude latex bustier, mini skirt, garter belt, and thigh-highs, it started things off plenty steamy. Kendrick wore black suiting to sit behind a desk, boss-style, and Taylor wore white latex with buckles to log time in a sci-fi machine that appeared to fix any wounds she sustained from Selena. We didn't get to see Lena's entire outfit, but her most major accessory was on full display: those buttery soft black leather gloves. The thing that pushed Ellie's look from basic LBD to something seriously dangerous? That wide belt, complete with three straps and a ton of buckles and hoops. Cara made her appearance in a bandage bathing suit, while Taylor got fierce with a spiked bra top and wrist-length leather gloves. As one of the few ladies permitted to wear non-black, Paramour's Hayley really stood out in blue leather. Taylor stood by in another leather leotard and tall boots. Taylor wore a white short suit (that looked, shape-wise, a lot like this red carpet pick). Cindy looked every inch the glamazon warrior princess in high-shine leather with a harness and leg holster on her thigh. For the mini movie's big battle scene, Taylor and her ladies rallied in uniforms ready for high-fashion fighting. From left to right, Hayley, Zendaya, Gigi, Tay, Martha, Serayah, and Cara all showed off a mix of leather shorts, bustiers, and boots. As the leader of the opposite army, Selena had the same vibe going on: a sexy bra top with sheer long sleeves and skinny straps.

No surprise here: Taylor Swift's all-star "Bad Blood" video broke Vevo's 24-hour viewing record, with 20.1 million views in its first day of release. Swift passes the previous record holder, Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda," which had held the honor since August 2014 when the bootylicioius vid debuted with 19.6 million views in the first 24 hours since release. A press announcement from Vevo notes that Swift has brought in nearly five billion total views among all of her videos. The song is widely known to be about Swift's feud with pop star Katy Perry. In typical Swift fashion, she never mentions Perry by name, but has dropped enough clues in interviews that it's fairly obvious that the former friends had a falling-out. Even Perry braced herself when word of the song emerged. However, there's a deeper meaning of what the whole "Bad Blood" video frenzy means. If you missed it, the plot is an action movie that starts as Selena Gomez (alter ego "Arsyn") goes to battle and pushes Swift out of a window. Swift is unscathed as she spends the rest of the video recuperating and training for revenge, with the help of her fellow warriors/pals. The all-female army of supermodels and actresses marches across an abandoned city, a huge fire blazing in the background as they go to fight Swift's enemy once more. But beneath the sleek action-movie video production values, Swift sends a rather chilling underlying message about power in Hollywood: In case you didn't know it before, she truly has become of the most powerful women in show business. So you shouldn't even bother to go up against her. Because you will lose. In other words, the "Bad Blood" video not-so-subtly serves as a warning that she doesn't take kindly to people who turn against her, and she has some extremely influential people to back her up on that. And if this video teaches us anything, Taylor Swift is not someone who you want to have as an enemy.

So where did the gang get their smoking ensembles? A Los Angeles erotic boutique called The Stockroom, as Page Six first uncovered. Swift’s team ordered more than $13,000 worth of leather and latex garb — including Taylor’s flesh-colored dress, seen in the opening scene (priced at $235): After the shoot, her team returned the clothes to the Stockroom — and according to the store’s director of operations, Shawn Gentry, they’ve been fielding plenty of calls (“usually from men”) about purchasing items worn by Swift, Billboard learned. Alas, Gentry says they won’t be selling or renting any of the items loaned to Swift’s team, but they’re already stocking up on outfits seen in the video, in anticipation of increased demand. It should also be noted that a handful of other pop stars have donned Stockroom attire, including Madonna and Katy Perry, Gentry told Billboard. … and Selena Gomez’s black blouse (priced at $360)

Swift scores her fourth No. 1, narrowly dethroning Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again." Plus, David Guetta's "Hey Mama" hits the top 10. Taylor Swift soars to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Bad Blood," featuring Kendrick Lamar, following a full week of tracking after the song's video premiere to kick off the Billboard Music Awards, which aired May 17 on ABC. Winning an extremely tight race, "Blood" displaces Wiz Khalifa's Furious 7 soundtrack hit "See You Again," featuring Charlie Puth, after six weeks on top. As we do each Wednesday, let's run down the all the news, good and "Bad," in the top 10 and more on the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100 (dated June 6). "Blood," released on Big Machine Records and promoted to radio by Republic Records, surges from No. 53 to No. 1 on the Hot 100 following a week of tracking after Swift premiered its celebrity-studded clip to open the BBMAs. The song rockets 26-1 on Digital Songs with 385,000 downloads sold (up 721 percent) in the week ending May 24, according to Nielsen Music. It also vaults onto the Streaming Songs chart at No. 3 with 18.1 million U.S. streams, with 99 percent of its streaming activity from Vevo on YouTube clicks of its official video. On Radio Songs, "Blood" bounds 46-15 with a 109 percent increase to 57 million all-format audience impressions. The track sweeps the Hot 100's three top gainer awards, for digital sales, streaming and airplay, marking the first song to so triple up since Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, earned all three honors on the Jan. 3 chart.
