What is downtime like for a 12-year-old dance prodigy whose life and preternatural abilities have been documented on Lifetime since she was just eight years old? ELLE.com dispatched Olivia Bee—wunderkind photographer and our December guest blogger—to take a peek behind the curtain. When we began discussing the type of unexpected personality Olivia Bee—the 20-year-old shutterbug who has shot everything from self-portraits for Hermès to Girls star Zosia Mamet for The New York Times Magazine—should spotlight, our first instinct was to have her capture someone older: perhaps a Rayder sister or a Lauren Hutton type. But Bee, who is as tiny and kinetic as her buzzing namesake, had someone else in mind: the 12-year-old star of the lowbrow-brilliant Lifetime reality hit Dance Moms and that Sia video. "I'm just obsessed with her," Bee said with a giggle over the phone, the Millennial inflection betraying the old soul calm that enables her to nab gigs from industry vets twice her age. And just like that, we sent her off to Pittsburgh, where the home-schooled tween resides with her mom and sister (and costar) Mackenzie, 10. Below, a never-before-seen peek into Ziegler's home life, which, when she's not filming or practicing or volunteering, revolves around girl crushing on Zendaya, watching YouTube tutorials, and cuddling with her Maltipoo, Maliboo. Maddie on modeling: "I definitely think about changing my pose and keeping my face alive. I also have to keep my face a little bit calmer, since I'm not performing to a large crowd, just to the photographer." On athletic shortcomings: "I've tried playing sports with my brothers. I just can't get the hang of it when it comes to throwing the ball." Natural Beauty: "I don't usually wear a lot of makeup when I'm hanging out with my friends. Just some M.A.C. Zoom Lash mascara and Marc Jacobs Magic Marc'er Liquid Eyeliner pen." On life imitating art: "Dance has definitely made me a better model. When I'm performing, I'm always thinking about my face and my look. I used to have a much harder time with it."

Maddie Ziegler is super famous and talented, but that doesn't mean she's out and about in star-studded L.A. all the time. The Dance Moms star lives with her family in Murrysville, Pennsylvania — a town near Pittsburgh that’s definitely a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Hollywood sign. But the 12-year-old dancer is still following her passions while living on the East Coast. Maddie told NYLON in their May 2015 issue, "I want to be an actress, so I’ve been auditioning lately. I’d love to be on scripted TV shows and movies, but not just one — I want to be in a lot of them! I’d also love to sing, and possibly be on Broadway. I can’t watch scary movies, but I’d love to act in one of them! I want to audition for roles that are super creepy and eerie." Maddie, who starred in 39-year-old Sia's videos for "Chandelier," "Elastic Heart," and "Big Girls Cry," has some incredible career ambitions! Who has given the star advice about doing what she loves? Sia, of course! "She said that when she was younger, she was a songwriter and getting burnt out because she kept going and going,” Maddie explained. “So she always tells me to make sure I’m having fun, because she doesn’t want me to keep working and working and then start hating what I do." "I love hanging out with her because she’s super funny and is always having a laugh with everyone. When I’m with her, I have no worries in the world," the dancer continued. That is adorable!

"Pretty Little Liars" will air another episode in just three more weeks and as early as now, some new cast members are already being revealed. Just recently, "Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler was photographed alongside Troian Bellisario, leading fans to speculate that she could indeed be part of the hit ABC Family series. On Monday, Bellisario tweeted a creepy photo of herself with Ziegler, with their long hair almost covering their faces completely. "Number 1 reason to come into work today. I get to be a creepfest with the insanely talented and awesome @madisonziegler1313 (I know. I know. you're so jealous)," she wrote. The 12-year-old professional dancer also shared the same photo via her Instagram account and wrote, "It's a dream come true that I got to work with the most incredible person!! And yes I know, we're haunting. @sleepinthegardn." Bellisario later on shared another snap of Ziegler that was photographed laying on a bed. She wrote, "Powerhouse. (And the sweetest)." In the clip, the four liars and Mona (Janel Parrish) will try their best to get out of the dollhouse. Their attempts would enrage Charles DiLaurentis, who has been revealed as "Big A" last season. According to the official synopsis for "Game On, Charles," "Moment after where the Season 5 finale left off, Aria, Emily, Hanna, Spencer and Mona are trapped outside of Charles' Dollhouse with nowhere to go and must now deal with an angry tormentor. Just when the liars thought Charles couldn't get any worse, his games take a more demented and darker turn." "Pretty Little Liars" season six will premiere this coming June 2 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.

It appears Maddie Ziegler isn’t a fan of watching herself living on the dance floor. The 12-year-old reality star had some choice words about “Dance Moms,” the Lifetime reality series that made her famous, while recently promoting Betsey Johnson’s new line for Capezio. When speaking to Elle.com, Maddie commented on “Dance Moms” and “Pretty Little Liars” sharing the same air time, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EDT. While Maddie only starred in one episode of “Pretty Little Liars," she said fans should tune into the ABC Family drama instead of Lifetime’s long-running dance competition series she has starred on since 2011. “Watch ‘Pretty Little Liars,’” Maddie instructed her fans. “It’s definitely a better show.” And that’s not all. When Johnson revealed she had never watched Maddie on “Dance Moms,” the online magazine reports the young performer told the fashion designer, “don’’t.” Maddie in such a big fan of “Pretty Little Liars,” she even revealed her desire to revisit the show. “Hopefully I’ll get to go back on the show because it’s my favorite,” she said. “I don’t even care if I’m an extra, I just want to go back! I watch it religiously.” As for who she wants to play, Maddie, who portrayed the role of a young, obviously disturbed, girl dancing inside lead Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) head in the show’s June 30 episode, said she’s dying to be cast as the series’ mysterious villain. “I want tone ‘A.’ That would be so sick,” she said.

Maddie Ziegler and Chloe Lukasiak lost communication since the latter left “Dance Moms” season 4. As part of the Lifetime series’ Throwback Tuesday special, the 12-year-old reality star was asked if she was still friends with Lukasiak. According to International Business Times, Ziegler admitted that she has lost touch with her former co-star. She shared that since she has not spoken to Lukasiak ever since the latter left the show. Ziegler added that things had changed between the two of them. The "Dance Moms" star, however, said that she has gotten used to not seeing Lukasiak on set. She added that she has gotten close to her other co-stars Nia Frazier, Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker. She said that she considers the three of them her best friends. When asked about her rivalry with Lukasiak, Ziegler explained that the competitive nature of the show only fueled her to become better in her craft. She added that competing against Lukasiak may have made her nervous but it also made her work harder and be more aggressive. Although Ziegler said that she has always been supportive of her co-stars, she admitted that she has always been competitive. She added that she gives her best in every performance and expect to impress the judges with her routine. Ziegler shared that all of them in the ALDC are very competitive because of Abby Lee Miller. According to Bustle, Ziegler and Lukasiak may run into each other at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards where they are both nominated in the Choice Dancer category. The reality stars could reportedly use this opportunity to patch things up.
