As fans wait with baited breath for the release of their highly anticipated new studio album What The Future Holds Pt. 2, pop legends Steps today (August 20th) reveal another track set to feature on the record, The Slightest Touch – an EPIC remake of the classic Five Star hit! As self confessed super fans of the iconic 80’s collective, Lee, Lisa, Faye, H and Claire work their collective magic to transform the 1987 dance-floor filler into a contemporary pop masterpiece; complete with dramatic electric synths, irrepressible disco beats and multi-layered trademark Steps harmonies. In a joint statement issued to accompany the songs release, the British quintet say: “We are SUCH massive fans of Five Star, when we started brainstorming a possible cover idea to include on ‘What The Future Holds Pt 2’ this felt like the natural choice. They are absolute idols of ours and have always dreamed about giving one of their songs a euphoric Steps makeover. We are SO excited about the end result and hope fans love it as much as our part covers like ‘Chain Reaction’ and ‘Tragedy’.” Steps - The Slightest Touch (Backstage Party Visualizer) We LOVE The Slightest Touch so much it inspired a party backstage after our show in Manchester!

Steps were rolling back the years as they performed their first live gig together in three years in Manchester - but couldn't resist celebrating afterwards with a cheeky KFC fry up. The reunited band are looking in sensational form as they celebrate 24 years in the business this year with a new album and upcoming UK arena tour. They performed an exclusive live gig at Manchester 02 Ritz attended by just 50 lucky fans that will be broadcast on BBC iPlayer and Radio 2 next month to herald their return to live performance after the easing of lockdown restrictions. After the gig, the MEN caught up with the band's Lisa Scott-Lee, who said they've all been working hard to get physically fit for their return to performance. But after the show, it was time for them all to kick back and tuck into some Kentucky Fried Chicken treats here in Manchester. Lisa said: "Because we have such a big element of dance in our performance we have to keep fit, it's important to us, and we're lucky to be at the top of our game right now. "When I look at them [the band] I think they're all amazing, 24 years on, I do feel proud of them, we are looking well right now... But we did have a KFC on the way home. "We were so good in the day, but then we cracked opened the prosecco and had a KFC after the show!" Lisa, alongside Faye Tozer, Claire Richards, Ian "H" Watkins and Lee Latchford-Evans, are now preparing for their full UK tour after the release of their new album What The Future Holds Part 2 on September 10. At their intimate Ritz show on Tuesday, the band showcased new tracks as well as all the old fan favourites - kicking off the night with Deeper Shade of Blue.
