BLACKPINK’s Lisa has smashed yet another record with her first solo album!
Immediately after dropping on September 10, Lisa’s album “Lalisa” received an incredible response, sweeping iTunes charts all around the world and breaking various YouTube views records.
On top of that, Lisa recorded 330,129 initial albums sold on the day of release, which saw a rise of 88,356 copies on the fourth day, reaching a day 4 total of over 420,000 albums. On the last day of the week (which was from September 10 to 16), nearly 250,000 albums were sold for a grand first-week total of 736,221.
This makes Lisa the first female solo artist to became a half-million seller for first-week album sales, for which Hanteo Chart announced they will “issue a Gold Certificate that indicates Initial Chodong [first week of release] sales amount of more than 500,000 copies.”
Lisa’s total breaks the record for first-week album sales record among all female artists and also marks the 15th highest first-week album sales in Hanteo history. Among female artists, the top three spots are now held by Lisa, BLACKPINK, and Rosé, demonstrating the group’s popularity.

Lisa, best known as one-fourth of the globally-successful South Korean girl group Blackpink, debuts her song “Money” atop this week’s Rap Digital Song Sales, Billboard’s ranking of the rap tunes that actually sold the most copies in the past tracking frame. The cut marks her first No. 1, first top 10 and first appearance overall on the 15-space tally, and she makes history by dominating. The Blackpink singer and rapper is now the first South Korean female musician (Lisa was born and raised in Thailand, but her career began in South Korea) to top the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, and she reaches the summit on her first try. Earlier this month, Lisa officially embarked on her highly-anticipated solo career with a two-track single album titled Lalisa, which instantly became a bestseller back in South Korea. Clearly, her American fans like it as well. Now, the pair of tunes featured on the set have started appearing on Billboard lists in America as well. The title track “Lalisa” is the more popular of the two, as it rules the World Digital Song Sales chart and makes a historic appearance on the Hot 100. Both “Lalisa” and “Money” debut inside the top 10 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales list, landing at Nos. 6 and 8, respectively. http://instagram.com/p/CUFFT2MvCZ9 “Money” arrives at No. 1 on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart having sold just over 6,900 copies, according to numbers shared by MRC Data. That puts it ahead of the runner-up, “Way 2 Sexy,” which sold another 5,900 copies in its second tracking frame. Lisa’s first champion on this tally also beats fellow high-ranking smashes like Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby” (No. 4, 5,000 copies) and even Eminem’s Oscar-winning “Lose Yourself” (No. 5, 3,450 copies).

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has broken Taylor Swift‘s two-year YouTube record with the music video for her debut single, ‘Lalisa’. According to data collected by YouTube (as of September 13), ‘Lalisa’ earned 73.6million views in the first 24 hours following its release. The music video has surpassed the record previously held by Taylor Swift’s 2019 hit ‘ME!’, which garnered 65.2 million views in 24 hours. Moreover, ‘Lalisa’ has also become the sixth most-viewed YouTube music video in the first 24 hours of all time. She is only surpassed by BTS‘ ‘Butter’, ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Boy With Luv’, as well as two MV from her own group BLACKPINK: ‘Ice Cream’ with Selena Gomez and ‘How You Like That’. Lisa also recently made her solo US TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of ‘Lalisa’. She had previously appeared on the talk show in June 2020 alongside her group members to promote their single, ‘How You Like That’. ‘Lalisa’, released on September 10, is the title track from Lisa’s debut solo single album of the same name. Aside from ‘Lalisa’, the project also featured the B-side track ‘Money’, alongside their instrumental versions.
