Prince Charles welcomed his mother's wish that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, be known as Queen Consort when he becomes King. He said he and his wife were "deeply conscious of the honour".
The Queen, who is 95, is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. Her reign began when she was 25 years old, following the death of her father, George VI, on 6 February 1952.

Her Majesty beamed as she was shown the "ingenious" handmade cards and artwork from members of the public, which had been preserved by the Royal Archives.
But the monarch wasn't the only member of the royal household getting a sneak-preview of the collection - her pet dog Candy also took a look around before trotting back to palace life.

Queen hosts reception at Sandringham on eve of Accession Day

After meeting the assembled guests, The Queen cut a cake specially prepared for the occasion by a local resident, featuring The Platinum Jubilee emblem.
Her Majesty also received a posy on departure, which included flowers that formed part of The Queen’s Coronation bouquet in 1953, such as lily of the valley.
