Owner Elon Musk calls X (formerly Twitter) "censorship" after Australian authorities asked X (formerly Twitter) to remove posts containing brutal footage and extremist claims about the knife attack at a Sydney church. He objected and refused to delete it. On the 22nd, Prime Minister Albanese criticized X's response as "abnormal", deepening the conflict.
In Sydney, on the 13th, shoppers at a commercial facility were attacked indiscriminately with knives, resulting in the deaths of six people. On the 15th, while worshiping at a Christian church, four people, including a bishop, were attacked with a knife by a 16-year-old boy and injured.
Both incidents occurred in public view. In addition to photos and videos of the bodies and the attack scene, posts glorifying the attack have gone viral.
