Entrepreneur Elon Musk posted a deepfake video of Vice President Kamala Harris on X on July 27, causing controversy.
Harris is the Democratic Party's leading candidate for the US presidential election to be held in November 2024. Meanwhile, Musk has expressed support for his opponent, Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Some have pointed out that the video posted by Mr. Musk is being spread without clearly stating that it is false, and that it violates X's policies.
In the video shared by Musk, a voice-over that sounds exactly like Kamala Harris criticizes President Biden, calling him "an idiot."
She claims that she is the "ultimate diversity hire" chosen because she is a woman and non-white, and that "if you criticize me, you will be called a sexist and racist."
She goes on to say, ``I may not know anything about how to run a country, but that's a good thing for a puppet of the deep state,'' which gives the impression that Harris is incompetent.

As riots by far-right supporters spread across the UK, Elon Musk, the owner of the social media site ``X'', posted that ``civil war is inevitable,'' and the British government condemned it.
On the 4th, Elon Musk commented, ``Civil war is inevitable,'' in response to a post about a riot in the United Kingdom that advocated anti-immigration policies.
In response, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office criticized the matter, saying, ``Such comments cannot be justified.''
He also called for stronger measures, saying, ``Social media companies must do more to counter misleading and inflammatory expressions.''
The riots began on the 29th of last month when three girls were stabbed to death in Southport, in the northwest.

Elon Musk has ramped up his row with the UK as he branded the prime minister "two-tier Keir" and questioned if it was "Britain or the Soviet Union" after a man was apparently arrested over Facebook comments.
The billionaire owner of X has been engaged in a war of words with Sir Keir Starmer over riots gripping the UK, amid concerns online disinformation is fuelling the unrest.
In his latest rebuke, Musk reposted a video appearing to show police officers arresting a man for making offensive comments on Facebook.
"Arrested for making comments on Facebook!," Musk wrote on X.
"Is this Britain or the Soviet Union? Is this accurate @community Notes."
Community Notes is X's own fact checking resource.
In the video, an officer is shown telling a man he is being arrested on suspicion of improper use of the electronics communications network.
This covers sending a message that is "grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character" and can result in a maximum six-month jail term or a fine.
