When Avril Lavigne announced her split from Chad Kroeger, the singer said the two would remain the "best of friends," and it looks like those weren't just empty words.
The duo enjoyed a cozy night together at Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Gala in February, and on Tuesday, the "Complicated" singer posted a photo of herself with her ex at the recording studio.
With guitars in hand, the two musicians have bright smiles on their faces as they pose together on a couch in the photo Lavigne posted on her Instagram.
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have fans guessing if the couple are together again or not, despite calling it quits on their marriage last September.
The rumours began to circulate after Avril posted a series of snaps with her estranged husband to her instagram account. The 31-year-old singer appears to have maintained a good relationship with her former husband.
Best exes ever? Avril Lavigne and her estranged hubby Chad Kroeger, hit the red carpet at the Juno Awards on Sunday in Calgary, Canada, looking happier than ever.
“Good to be back at the Junos Awards. Feeling healthy and enjoying the positive vibes here #JunoAwards #Canada,” Lavigne captioned an Instagram photo of herself with Kroeger at the event.
"Chad and I have a great friendship,” Lavigne told ET Canada at the award show on the their current relationship status post- split. “We started in the studio together working and we still work together, so it's important for us just to keep that relationship."
Avril Lavigne posted a new message on her Instagram page that shows how she's getting past her difficult year.
After suffering from Lyme disease and a split from her husband, Chad Kroeger, it's safe to say that Lavigne would be pretty stressed out. But at this time, she seems to be doing what she can to get by while looking forward to what the world has to offer her next.
In a new social media post on Tuesday, the singer uploaded a quote that mentions how when things come to an end, it can be followed by something amazing. "New beginnings are often described as painful endings..."
Although Lavigne’s marriages did not last very long, there does not seem to be any bad blood between her and her ex-husbands.
When talking about Whibley and Kroeger, Lavigne once said: “They’re just good people. We had marriages, we lived together, I knew their families, they knew mine, we just stayed close and there’s a mutual respect.”
Back in 2014, she also came out in support of Whibley when he was seeking treatment for alcoholism.
“I love Deryck very much,” she shared. “He’s family to me. He’s a good guy and I want him to be happy and healthy and what he did was to let his fans know to drink responsibly.”
These days, Lavigne is especially very close to Kroeger. After their divorce, Lavigne continued to accompany Kroeger to various events. The pair also worked together on her music and even performed on the same stage. Lavigne has actually credited him for helping her battle Lyme disease, which she was diagnosed with in 2014.
“I’m really grateful to have had someone like him in my life who cared while I was getting back up on my feet,” Lavigne said of Kroeger. “He’s just always been a cheerleader of mine and always been such a huge fan.”
