MOSCOW, January 26 - RIA Novosti. Anastasia Gubanova, representing Georgia, showed the best result in the short program at the European Figure Skating Championships, which takes place in Espoo, Finland.
Gubanova received a score of 69.81 for her performance on Thursday. Belgium's Luna Hendrix was second with 67.85 and Swiss Kimmy Repond was third with 63.83.
Competitions in the free program will be held on Saturday, January 28.
The Council of the International Skating Union (ISU) on March 1, against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, suspended Russian and Belarusian figure skaters, speed skaters and short track skaters from participating in international tournaments. In June, the ISU Congress approved this decision, it will remain in effect until further notice.
