On the 11th, Russian media reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his intention to agree to the cease-fire agreement negotiated two years ago in Turkey over the invasion of Ukraine.
On the 11th, President Putin met with President Lukashenko of Belarus, an ally, who visited Moscow.
At this meeting, President Lukashenko proposed returning to the cease-fire agreement negotiated during negotiations with Ukraine held in Istanbul, Turkey in March 2022, to which President Putin again agreed. Multiple Russian media reported on the 12th that he had expressed his intention to do so.
The proposed agreement in Istanbul requires that the Russian military withdraw its troops to the point before the invasion, that Ukraine renounce its membership in NATO and, in return, guarantee the security of Ukraine by the relevant countries, and that a military solution to the Crimean Peninsula be reached. The Ukrainian side proposed waiving the agreement for 15 years, and the Russian side also evaluated it positively.
