Conservative pundit Ann Coulter is under fire for a racist tirade against new Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. In an appearance on the "The Mark Simone Show" podcast this week, Coulter made several xenophobic comments about Haley, the former governor of South Carolina who was born in the U.S. to Indian immigrant parents. "Why don't you go back to your own country?" Coulter said. Coulter, known for her racist and anti-immigrant stances, attacked India, as well. "Her candidacy did remind me that I need to immigrate to India so I can demand they start taking down parts of their history," she said. "What's with the worshipping of the cows? They're all starving over there. Did you know they have a rat temple, where they worship rats?" Haley did not respond to a request for comment. Coulter also called Haley a "bimbo" and a "preposterous creature," criticizing her for having advocated removing the Confederate flag from the grounds of the South Carolina Statehouse in the wake of the 2015 shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. "This is my country, lady," she said. "I'm not an American Indian, and I don't like them taking down all the monuments." Haley announced her candidacy Tuesday, making her the first Republican opponent for former President Donald Trump, for whom Coulter has been a vocal proponent. Don Lemon has apologized to CNN staff for the comments he made about former South Carolina governor and 2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley. The CNN anchor called into a staff meeting Friday and offered an apology to co-workers for saying 51-year-old Haley was past her prime on Thursday's episode of 'CNN This Morning.' Sources say he owned up to his badly chosen words and said he stands against sexism and racism. He also thanked his female colleagues.

This misleading ad was sent to people who were in the area of a Haley campaign event Monday An organization supporting Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign used location data to send misleading ads to people who attended campaign events for Nikki Haley’s nascent presidential run. The ads, spotted by FWIW News, falsely stated that Haley is supporting Trump’s campaign for reelection. One example featured a photoshopped image of Haley wearing a Make America Great Again hat, and said “Nikki Haley is backing Trump in 2024. Are You?” The ads used location data to target people who were in the 50323 zip code on Monday, the site of Haley’s first visit to Iowa since announcing her candidacy. She is not, in fact, backing her old boss. The PAC that bought the ads, the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee, works in conjunction with Trump’s principal campaign committee, according to Federal Election Commission records. The two share a treasurer. The ads were seen more than 20,000 times by people in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, and were primarily targeted at women over the age of 45, according to Google and Facebook’s databases of political ads.
