Alex Morgan is not interested in what haters have to say about her tea-sipping celebration after scoring Tuesday in the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 2-1 victory over England in the World Cup semifinal. And she called out the double standard her critics employ. Morgan scored the decisive goal to help her team advance to Sunday’s final, and she pretended to sip tea (with her pinkie out), seemingly trolling England. But people are unnecessarily outraged over this innocuous celebration, and Morgan called out sexism as the root of the criticism. Via ESPN: “I feel that there is some sort of double standard for females in sports,” Morgan said, “to feel like we have to be humble in our successes and have to celebrate, but not too much or in a limited fashion. You see men celebrating all over the world in big tournaments, grabbing their sacks or whatever it is. And when I look at sipping a cup of tea, I am a little taken aback by the criticism.”

Alex Morgan has worn a whole lot of red, white, and blue this Summer, but the cocaptain of the US Women's National Soccer Team is switching things up and goin' orange. Fresh off of the team's impressive World Cup win, she and teammate Megan Rapinoe stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Alex entered the studio in a deep-cut orange pantsuit. The sexy, sleeveless blazer and high-rise pants looked fabulous paired with Alex's metallic silver heels. It's been a busy week for Alex and the inspiring USWNT. The celebrations began the moment they boarded the plane home from France, and they're showing no signs of slowing down. After the Champagne-filled victory parade in New York City, the team went to Los Angeles for the 2019 ESPY Awards, where they left with even more trophies! The team won the ESPY for best team, and Alex took home the award for best female athlete, where she joked that it was "the second-best trophy" she won all week. The stunning orange suit paired with round sunglasses and a scrunchie made for the perfect outfit for Alex before the late-night show. During the interview, she wore a two-piece Versace ensemble, but it's the colorful suit and the metallic heels we can't stop staring at. Check out photos of the superstar's chic Summer outfit ahead.

Jimmy asks Team USA World Cup champ Alex Morgan three ridiculous questions. #3RQ On the heels of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team World Cup Victory, Morgan is being featured in a National Geographic book on the history of women around the world. The book Women, which will debut on October 22, is the compelling work of Susan Goldberg, the first female editor of National Geographic, and current editor-in-chief. In this book, sure to be important to many generations, Goldberg poised the same 11 questions to an iconic group of women, including: Morgan, Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Jane Goodall, gun control activist Emma González, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, authors Roxanne Gay and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and former First Lady Laura Bush. In the wake of New York City’s ticker-tape parade that was watched with rapt attention around the nation, with young girls and women basking in the glow of their achievement, comes a timely look at Morgan, how she got where she is, and what lessons she has for all of us.
