An online casino trolled missing Madeleine McCann 's family in a sick publicity stunt tweet over new £100 million Manchester United signing Paul Pogba. Fruity King Casino have been slammed for comparing United having sold the French midfielder - only to buy him back again - to Kate and Gerry McCann leaving their kids alone on the night Maddie vanished. The bookmakers' tweet said: "Letting Poga go on a free, then buying him back @ €100m. Worst decision since the McCanns went for dinner. #Pogback". It was met with fury from Twitter users who branded the firm "shameful".

Prime Minister Theresa May is coming under pressure to make missing schoolboy Damien Nettles the next Madeleine McCann so police can search a copse where his family have been told his body was buried 20 years ago. Relatives in the Forest of Dean want police to carry out an official search of the woodland at the back of Gurnard Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight which has been named by some sources on the island as the 'murdered' teenager's final resting place. And they have started a petition to force the Government to plough more money into solving the mystery of the 16-year-old who disappeared walking home from a party on November 2, 1996.

Cops investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are seeking more funding to keep the investigation going. Scotland Yard revealed the team still looking into her mysterious disappearance have “outstanding work” left to do on the inquiry and may apply for more Home Office funding. In April, then-home secretary Theresa May granted the team £95,000 to keep the investigation going, with the cash expected to last until October. But Scotland Yard said it would talk to the Home Office about funding. A force spokesman said: “Whilst there remains outstanding work on this case, the Metropolitan Police Service will remain in dialogue with the Home Office regarding the continuation of funding.”

The parents of Madeleine McCann have dumped their spokesman in a bid to reduce spiralling costs. Kate and Gerry axed PR expert Clarence Mitchell after nine years as they face uncertainty over the future of the £12million investigation – codenamed Operation Grange – into the disappearance of their daughter. Kate and Gerry have just five more weeks of guaranteed Government funding towards the search. The couple have vowed to use money from the official fund to continue the probe themselves, saying: “We will continue to do everything we can to help find our daughter. Our hope and resolve continues.” Mr Mitchell was told his “services were no longer needed” in an email from heart doctor Gerry, who explained the family had to “cut costs”.

More than £4.2million has been donated to the fund since she vanished in Portugal in 2007. Last year’s accounts showed just £746,152 left and sources suggest it is now just £480,000. And the couple face paying £434,000 to Portuguese ex-police chief Goncalo Amaral’s lawyers after losing their libel action against him. That would leave £46,000. The McCanns were hoping to use the cash to pay for private investigators.
