Selena Gomez had a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday for her Revival tour, and there might as well have been a red carpet, because tons of celebs showed up! Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale arrived arm in arm, and the Tiz's husband Christopher French was there as well.
Other past/former Disney stars at the concert included Bailee Madison and Peyton List, and Halle Berry, Tobey Maguire, Jason Derulo and Brooklyn Beckham were also there. Cody Simpson wasn't spotted in the crowd, but E! News reports that the Aussie singer and several male friends were backstage, hanging out in a room next to Selena. Joe Jonas was there as well, as his new group, DNCE, was the opening act.
Selena Gomez went on Twitter to defend her best friend Taylor Swift after Kim Kardashian West leaked video footage of a phone call Kanye West had with Swift on Snapchat.
In Kardashian West's video, you can hear Swift agreeing to the lyrics in question of West's infamous track "Famous" on The Life of Pablo. Then, Twitter users convened an epic #KimExposedTaylorParty.
But Swift's BFF tried to crash the party by saying that people don't use their voice to stand up for something that matters.
On top of being the most-followed person on Instagram, Selena Gomez just beat out Justin Bieber for the most-liked picture. No biggie.
Since everyone is obsessed with wracking up follows and likes, fans often wonder how Selena managed to become Instagram's reigning queen and whether some of her perfect-looking pics are actually staged.
"It wasn't my goal to be the most followed person," Selena told The Hollywood Reporter about her new Insta status. "It's my favorite social platform."
When it comes to picking which photos, selfies, and videos she posts to her profile, the pop star just kind of goes with the flow. "It comes in a moment when I capture something happening, and I go, 'Oh, that would be great for Instagram. I should post it.' I know it's boring, but that's genuinely what I do... I'm not sure there's a method to my madness," she explained.
Selena says she just strives to be as authentic as possible while giving her fans a look at what's going on in her pop star life. "I try to find a good balance of just being 100 percent myself and knowing when to post a really good selfie with good lighting," she said. She also doesn't try to force it with caption, telling THR that if a caption isn't coming to her, she just uses an emoji and lets it be.
You know how the title character from the children's book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day had the worst day ever? Well, Selena Gomez has been having the opposite of that for quite a while.
A data-analytics company recently announced that it considers her the most influential media mogul on social media, valuing her posts at a whopping $550,000. She also recently became the new face of Louis Vuitton, signed a major deal with Pantene, and kicked off her Revival Tour. Yeah, it doesn't suck to be Gomez right now.
Sadly, we can't offer you fame, fortune, or fashion-modeling gigs, but we can give you a glimpse into Revival Tour life thanks to a new tutorial from her makeup artist.
The video, which hit the official Revival Tour Instagram yesterday, features Melissa Murdick showing how she achieves one of Gomez's tour looks—a soft, metallic smoky eye.
Just a day after her 24th birthday, the Queen of Instagram took to her favorite social media outlet to express an inner sadness as well as a creative disconnect.
“Tonight I felt extremely unauthentic, unconnected to both myself and my music,” the former Disney Channel star wrote. “I’ve never really felt like my materials, wardrobe or a video could define me.”
The short note comes on the heels of Gomez nabbing coveted social media accolades including the most influential person on social media per D’Marie Analytics as well as the most liked photo in Instagram’s history. “The next song, before I go home, is a song that’s so important to me,” she told fans. “Because I get really frustrated sometimes. I say things that I don’t mean or that come out just because I care so badly.
“But the thing is at the end of the day no war in anger was ever won. I do know that deep down in my heart that I have to believe we love each other and always be kind no matter what it takes in us.”
