(CNN) A poll assuming that Democratic President Biden and Republican former President Trump face off again in the 2024 presidential election shows that Trump has an advantage in the important battleground states of Michigan and Georgia.
In both states, a wide range of respondents had negative views of the incumbent president's job performance, political stance, and clarity. This was revealed in an investigation by SSRS, a research company commissioned by CNN.
In Georgia, which Biden won by a very narrow margin in the 2020 presidential election, 49% of registered voters said they would support Trump in a head-to-head contest between the two. This was higher than the 44% support for Biden.
On the other hand, in Michigan, where Biden won by a larger margin last time, 40% support Biden compared to 50% for Trump. 10% said they did not support either option.

President Biden's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34% this month, according to a poll released on December 18 local time by Monmouth University in New Jersey.
According to a survey of 803 adults conducted by the university between November 30 and December 4, President Joe Biden's approval rating has fallen from 38% in September to 34% this month. This clearly highlights the predicament of the Biden campaign, which has given up a lead to former President Donald Trump in the lead-up to next year's US presidential election.
This result is due to the fact that the majority of respondents are dissatisfied with President Biden's handling of inflation and immigration. According to the average poll by the political site RealClearPolitics, President Biden's approval rating is 4 points lower than Trump's, and Trump's approval rating is lower in 9 out of the 10 most recent polls. He is said to have been better than or on par with President Biden.
President Biden was recently asked by a reporter why he was losing to Trump in the polls, and he replied, "You're looking at the wrong polls." The president made similar remarks in November, when asked by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, "Why do you think he lost to Trump in five of the battleground states?" I haven't read it.'' He went on to claim that "out of the last 10 polls, eight have him winning or tied," though it's unclear which poll the president was referring to.
In a Monmouth University survey, 61% of respondents disapproved of President Biden. The figure is up 6 points from September and is the worst rating since the president took office.

Last time, Biden won a close race in Michigan, where support wavered between Democrats and Republicans.
However, according to one poll, former President Trump's approval rating is 4 to 10 points higher in five of the six battleground states, including this state.
There has also been considerable criticism regarding the response to the war between Israel and the Islamic organization Hamas.
In Michigan, 48% of voters say they are sympathetic to Israel, more than voters sympathetic to Palestinians (37%), but 46% disapprove of Biden's response.
Leaders of Muslim communities in battleground states, including Michigan, the nation's most Arab-populated state, withdrew their support for Biden after the Biden administration vetoed a UN Security Council call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

According to the latest opinion poll (Harvard-Harris, December 13 and 14, 2023), in a direct showdown between the two, Mr. Biden has a share of 42% and Mr. Trump has a share of 47%. According to a Gallup poll (December 2023), Biden's approval rating is 39%, which is lower than any president seeking re-election in the 2000s.
Biden's biggest "concern" is his age, as he will turn 82 this year. Although he is doing his best to extinguish rumors that he is worried about his health, many people are concerned about his ability to carry out his duties.
"Watch me" is a phrase Biden repeats in speeches and in response to questions about his age. However, in various opinion polls, 70% of voters say that he is too old to serve a second term, and his evaluation is far from the view that he will be a strong president even at the age of 82.
At the same time, the age issue of the US commander-in-chief has become the biggest issue in the election campaign. Voters have even expressed the harsh view that he may not even be able to fight for the election, let alone the presidency. Mr. Trump, who turns 78 this year, has also been criticized by 50% of voters as having an "age problem."
