Russian figure skater Elena Radionova stressed that in the offseason changed her style, and she likes to change images every year. On Friday the athlete placed second in the short program at the Moscow stage of "Grand Prix", received 71.93 points from the judges. The leader after the first day of competition is another representative of Russia Anna Pogorilaya (73.93). - I changed the style of this year. - In general, I try to do each season different programs that I was not in the same way. This is for the audience interested, and I develop myself. This year, I have an interesting short program, "Porgy and Bess" as a split personality. We decided to make an unusual dress, move away from the stereotypes - ordinary curly dress with stones. We decided to choose an unusual fashion without stones, to experiment. In addition, I have this year a new program director. I think it is right that we change the style, because we do not have to be the same type, we need to show themselves in different images. And, moreover, if possible, why does it not show them?

Olympian Polina Edmunds has ended her Grand Prix of Figure Skating season without competing because of continued problems with her right foot. The San Jose teenager withdrew from the NHK Trophy after already skipping the Rostelecom Cup in Moscow, U.S. Figure Skating announced Tuesday. Edmunds, 18, was hoping to make her debut this month in Japan. As if Gracie Gold needed any more pressure, there’s this: she must beat the reigning world champion this weekend to have even a small chance to qualify for December’s Grand Prix Final. Gold, three weeks after finishing a disappointing fifth at Skate America, will face a field that includes Russian world champion Yevgenia Medvedeva at Trophée de France in Paris on Friday and Saturday. Gold reportedly said after Skate America, where she had her worst Grand Prix finish since her debut four years ago, that she needed to adjust her mental and physical shape. She talked openly about still feeling depressed in the summer due to her world championships performance from April, when she dropped from first after the short program to fourth. She also mentioned taking weeks off from training in the summer and not being in ideal physical shape for Skate America Trophée de France broadcast schedule (all times Eastern) FridayPairs short program9:40 a.m.Icenetwork.com FridayShort dance11 a.m.Icenetwork.com FridayMen’s short program12:45 p.m.Icenetwork.com FridayWomen’s short program2:40 p.m.Icenetwork.com FridayWomen’s, men’s short programs8-10 p.m.UniHD SaturdayPairs free skate7:45 a.m.Icenetwork.com SaturdayFree dance9:25 a.m.Icenetwork.com SaturdayMen’s free skate12:20 p.m.Icenetwork.com SaturdayWomen’s free skate2:30 p.m.Icenetwork.com SaturdayFree dance, pairs free8-10 p.m.UniHD SundayTrophée de France4:30-6 p.m.NBCSN, NBC Sports app

Women's tournament - it has already become a traditional confrontation between Russia and Japan: the current world champion Evgenia Medvedeva against three-time world title holders of senior Mao Asada. The first stages of his Japanese pieces failed, and this concerned both programs. But to say that Assad - it passed stage women's figure skating and not too dangerous opponent is not least because it has a triple axel - and the potential is very considerable technical advantage in any fight. Plus - Mao has a number of qualities which is not yet Medvedev: above all it is the possession of the ridge, and a much higher expression of skiing as such. Besides, Asada has nothing to lose: it is not exactly will be among the participants of the finals and Marseille can go, even without thinking about the result. As the Japanese knows how to skate in such a situation, it is not necessary to explain: it is enough to recall Asada free program at the Games in Sochi. Thereis the "dark horse": This role is perfectly suited for Mary Sotskova who already had time to win the tournament this season in Bratislava. The program complexity of Elena Vodorezova (the skater went to her last season by Svetlana Panov) is not inferior to any of the acting sportswomen, and the fact that she is only 16 years old at present is not a drawback. And it is not excluded that the predicted Russo-Japanese War in reality will only duel of two sixteen Russians. Russian participants in the stage of "Grand Prix" IN PARIS Women Alena Leonova, Evgenia Medvedeva, Maria Sotskova. Men : Artur Dmitriev. Couples : Natalia Zabiyako / Alexander Enbert, Yevgeny Tarasov / Vladimir Morozov. Dance : Elena Ilyina / Ruslan Zhiganshin.
