Elliott: There’s no doubt there’s a subliminal tip of the hat to that country direction just from a melodic point of view. It’s like the Eagles — the “Are they country, are they rock?” kind of thing. We don’t sound like the Eagles, don’t get me wrong — we’re not just using the standard third or fifth straight harmonies that most rock bands do. We were always encouraged by Mutt to go a little bit different. And that was all heard by Taylor’s mom [Andrea Swift], who was the original fan of the band in the family — but Taylor was listening to us in her mom’s womb. She was born to us in 1989, and probably had “Hysteria,” [1983’s] “Pyromania,” and “Adrenalize” on rotation as a child. It all just sunk in, even though she’s a country girl who’s gone pop. The reason we did that show with her was she announced in an interview the only band she’d ever consider doing it [CMT Crossroads] with is us.  Alison Krauss is the same. Alison Krauss is a huge fan. Listen to Union Station — obviously not a bit like us, but she recognizes there’s something in the way our vocals are that links to what she does. We’re all fans of other types of music. We don’t sound like Tom Waits, but I love him to death. We’re all fans of things we don’t do. In fact, it’s a relief. I don’t think Taylor or Alison are sitting around all day listening to country music, because that’s what they do for a living. Just like I don’t sit around listening to bands that sound like Def Leppard. We listen to alternative stuff.  |

Dumbledore once said, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to search for Harry Potter memes on the internet" – or at least he would have if the movies took place in 2016. Because you can, in fact, find happiness through memes, something proven by this hilarious fan edit.  The edit shows a paragraph from the beginning of Sorcerer's Stone, where Harry's Uncle Vernon is driving the family all over England in an attempt to hide from Harry's very persistent Hogwarts letters. The passage reads: "They drove. And they drove. Even Aunt Petunia didn't dare ask where they were going. Every now and then Uncle Vernon would take a sharp turn and drive in the opposite direction for a while. "Shake 'em off... shake 'em off," he would mutter whenever he did this." Of course, no human can see the words "shake 'em off" and not think of Taylor Swift's sassy anthem, so a fantastic meme was made.  |

 In more ways than one, Taylor Swift is like a fairy godmother to her fans. She surprises them with Christmas gifts, or brings them backstage at her shows. She's even gone as far as helping one lucky girl pay student loans. But besides the more figurative use of the phrase, the 26-year-old is actually a real godmother to Jaime King's son Leo Thames Newman, whom she lovingly refers to as LT. King gave birth in July, and ever since, Swift has been there to share the cute photos and fulfill her godmother duties. On Saturday, Swift posted photos from LT's half-birthday and the captions were too cute. She wrote,  It's mind-blowing how quickly kids grow and that King's son is already teething. The "Out of the Woods" singer also shared a photo of the half-birthday boy and his proud mom. This isn't the first time she look her role as godmother seriously. Back in August, Swift dedicated "Never Grow Up" to LT at a concert in  Clara. It was a sweet moment where she talked about how holding an innocent baby made her rethink the Speak Now track.  |

 Besties and workout buddies! Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez went without makeup for what appeared to be a fierce gym session in West Hollywood on Monday, January 18.  The "Out of the Woods" singer, 26, and the "Hands to Myself" songstress, 23, kept things casual in their workout ensembles. While Swift sported a black hoodie, Superdry Gym Running Capri Leggings and Nike sneakers, Gomez flaunted her fit frame in a pink Hurley sports bra with printed pants.  A source tells Us that the longtime BFFs — who met back in the mid-2000s, when their careers were just starting to take off — worked up a sweat for about two hours inside Simone De La Rue's Body by Simone L.A. studio. |

 It's finally here! After announcing in July 2015 that she would be making an exclusive-to-China clothing collection, Taylor Swift debuted the line at Hong Kong Fashion Week, which kicked off on Monday, January 18.  The capsule, in collaboration with Nashville-based company Heritage66, features Swiftian staples, like beatnik stripes, high-waisted skirts and crop tops. Most of the pieces also bear the "Shake It Off" singer's name in creative ways. Swift herself, 26, modeled a dress from the line in November. Her version featured the letters of her name in block font, jumbled up, with a black button-down skirt and sweatshirt sleeves tied around her waist. Scroll through to see the styles!  |
