http://instagram.com/p/BjKxyqOn5ZQ It's been one year since the deadly attack took place at Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester, and in honor of the anniversary the singer got a new tattoo. On May 22, 2017, towards the end of the singer's concert at Manchester Arena, an explosion took place, leaving 22 dead and 59 injured. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Grande, fans, and people around the world came together in support. A year later the singer still holds the victims close to her heart, and got a tattoo of a bee to represent the worker bee, a well-known symbol of Manchester.

Ariana Grande is speaking out about the controversial joke Pete Davidson made about her and the Manchester bombing. The unearthed bit came from an event Davidson appeared at last fall — months before he and the “No More Tears Left to Cry” singer began dating. He quipped that he realized how famous Grande was because “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert.” Grande, 25, made her feelings known about it on Thursday when replying to a disappointed fan — and she’s conflicted over the whole thing. this has been v tough & conflicting on my heart. he uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in this world are. we all deal w trauma differently. I of course didn’t find it funny. it was months ago & his intention wasn’t/ is never malicious but it was unfortunate — Ariana Grande (@arianagrande) July 5, 2018 Grande added, “i hear and respect you all always.” The May 2017 bombing that occurred during Grande’s show in the U.K. left 22 people dead. Charlotte Hodgson, whose daughter Olivia Campbell-Hardy was killed in the terrorist attack, condemned the joke earlier this week. “For anyone to joke about this situation is disgusting and I think he should publicly apologize for it,” Hodgson told the Mirror. “The families will find it equally as disgusting. We don’t need jokes about it, there have been plenty around, and it’s heartbreaking to hear every day.”

After a trying couple of years, Ariana Grande has announced her plan to take some time off to "heal and mend." The singer released a statement about her decision to People, explaining via her reps that: "Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much-needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding." As the statement explains, the past couple of years have been emotional for Grande. On May 22, 2017, a suicide bomber set off an explosive device in Manchester Arena, just after the conclusion of Grande's concert in the venue. The attack resulted in 23 deaths and more than 500 injuries and prompted Grande to suspend her tour. On June 4 of that year, Grande hosted the One Love Manchester benefit concert, which raised $23 million for the bombing victims and families affected by the attack.
