Following the incredibly successful "Frozen" comes its sequel, "Frozen 2." Even though the details of the plot are still kept under wraps, the sequel is confirmed for a 2019 premiere. As far as updates go, things have been scarce on this end as the plot is kept under lock and key. However, according to the movie's producer Peter del Vecho, they are still developing the story. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly a few months back, he even went on to add that "Frozen 2" would make audiences understand the first movie a lot more this time around, which is naturally the path that sequels go on. The announcement of the sequel went as far back as 2015, which was two years after the premiere of the first movie. It was only in April that Disney announced that "Frozen 2" is up for a 2019 premiere. It will be following the Broadway debut of the films in the spring of 2018. Kristen Bell, who plays Anna, stated to Collider last year that the reason why the movie is taking a while to get off the ground is because Disney is making sure that it is done right. Bell went on to say that the they were still trying to figure out what kind of story they would want to tell this time. Knowing that she is set to record her lines this year means that the movie is well under production.

Attention all Frozen fans, we are about to hit you with the ultimate snowstorm. As previously announced, Disney's Frozen is officially coming to Broadway in Spring 2018 and we can't seem to let it go (yeah, that happened). Disney has released a sneak peek of the production, which begins its out-of-town tryout in Denver this month, and it is sure to hold you over until winter. The video features one-on-one interviews with the creative geniuses behind the Broadway show, as well as a behind-the-scenes look from inside the rehearsal studio with the cast. Frozen will join other smash hits from Disney Theatrical Productions such as The Lion King and Aladdin on Broadway following its Denver run, and will be making its New York City debut at the St. James Theatre. The musical promises to be nothing short of iconic and we are told you can expect new material, new songs, incredible costumes, and of course some seriously chilling Disney magic. The production will be lead by Broadway stars Caissie Levy as Elsa and Patti Murin as Anna, with music and lyrics written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the Oscar-winning dynamic duo who also wrote the film's score. We can't wait to be a part of the two and a half hour extravaganza which will come to life prior to the release of Disney's Frozen 2, hitting theaters in 2019.

I can't think of another Disney project that has had a weirder release history than Olaf's Frozen Adventure. Debuting in theaters with Coco, there was a little bit of backlash due to the length of the 21-minute special, originally made for TV, extending an already long theatergoing experience. It was pulled from theaters two weeks later, only to be broadcast on ABC a few days afterwards with little advertising. And with less than 24-hours notice, it is now available in Digital HD paired with 6 classic Disney shorts that have also received HD upgrades. The song-filled special finds Anna and Elsa celebrating their first Christmas since the events of the original film. They decorate the palace and plan a big feast, surprising the kingdom with a party invite that gets rejected because everyone needs to spend time with their families partaking in their traditions. Not having any of their own, Olaf sets off the learn about holiday traditions that he can bring back to Anna and Elsa as a surprise. The special includes four new songs written by Kate Anderson (sister of Kristine Anderson-Lopez) and Elyssa Samsel. "That Time of Year" is Olaf's own jingle and the catchiest of the new tunes. But the tone is set by the opening number, "Ring in the Season." Kristoff gets his own short song ("The Ballad of Flemmingrad"), but the closing number "When We're Together" feels destined for Christmas classic status.

Watch the new teaser trailer from Disney's “Frozen 2.” From the Academy Award®-winning team—directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and producer Peter Del Vecho—and featuring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, and the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019. The plot thickens when you look a bit closer at Frozen 2’s poster. The large snowflake in the middle has four distinct diamond crystals, each with its own unique design in the middle. What could this mean? Does this imply that there is one set of magical carving for each kingdom/seasonal power? Is the snowflake’s design more tied to the four elements than it is to the four seasons? Are these intricate carvings (which also appear in a brief shot, suspended in the air) the key to understanding just why Elsa randomly has ice powers when no other human in the kingdom seems to have any type of magic?

“Frozen 2” will take place three years after the original “Frozen,” according to Disney. Head of animation Beck Bresee and head of effects Marlon West recently spoke at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France about the new film and revealed a detailed look at the first scene of “Frozen 2,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The duo announced that “Frozen 2” will take place after a three-year time jump. “It's an evolution and an expansion of the story of 'Frozen,' and many of the questions raised in the first movie become the mysteries that our gang are trying to solve in this film,” Bresee said. "(It's) about two sisters trying to stay together while the world tries to tear them apart," West said.
