After what feels like the longest, coldest wait of all time, the Frozen 2 premiere was last night, signaling the official start of eternal winter. And no one was more excited and more adorable than Selena Gomez and her date for the night — her six-year-old sister, Gracie.

“Frozen 2" follows Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) as she sets off on a journey to discover how she came to possess her icy powers, accompanied by her fearless sister Anna (Kristen Bell), ice vendor Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and their trusty sidekicks Olaf the snowman (Josh Gad) and Sven the reindeer. Along the way, the gang must depend on one another as they encounter dark forces at play in the enchanted forests and seas beyond Arendelle. “This time, they didn’t have to flee their kingdom in the wrong dress very fast,” said Lee, who’s also chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. “They had a chance to choose, and, of course, you’re going to wear pants when you hear the words ‘enchanted forest.’” “They’re going on a big adventure,” added producer Peter Del Vecho. “It’s going to be very physical, so it makes sense.” Evan Rachel Wood, who voices the sisters’ mother, Queen Iduna, in flashbacks and has been known to defy red carpet expectations with pant ensembles of her own, sees the updated costumes as a natural evolution informed by changing societal norms. “They’ve done a really amazing job of still keeping the Disney feeling that we love, but just with a more modern feel,” Wood said. “The girls are still beautiful and still women, but they’re just able to do a lot more now that they’re in pants.”

Frozen 2 is less than two weeks from hitting the big screen, which means the film’s cast has been busy promoting the upcoming Disney flick. The new film will see the return of Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf. http://instagram.com/p/B4qhUHnJnCj The cast has been posting photos of their Frozen journey from a magical trip to Disneyland to the movie's big world premiere. However, the fun doesn't stop there! Bell's latest couple of Instagram posts shows her dressed in character as Anna having an adventure that you definitely wouldn't see happen over in Arendelle. http://instagram.com/p/B4qhJujJWW1

Kristen Bell spills details about her new Disney+ show, Encore, and teases details about Frozen 2, including how Kristoff challenges toxic masculinity and how the animators troll the actors while recording. This week, the Frozen 2 star stopped by The Tonight Show and delivered an epic mashup of Disney songs with the late night talk show host, and I can't stop smiling after watching it for myself:

5th Update, Monday AM: Frozen 2 is coming in exactly where we expected to: $130M. Disney reported that the sequel to the 2013 movie had a better Sunday than they anticipated, $38.4M to yesterday morning’s $35.4M which put their 3-day at $127M. Frozen 2 scored the best November opening for an animated pic ever at the domestic B.O, exceeding 2004’s The Incredibles ($70.4M) and it’s the fifth highest stateside opening for the fall month ever. Worldwide, Frozen 2 is a record opening for an animated pic, hands downs with a revised upward take of $228.2M international, $358.2M global. 4th Update, Sunday FINAL: Both in the U..S/Canada and worldwide, Disney’s Frozen 2 is the highest grossing animated pic of all-time. Disney is reporting $350.2M worldwide, which bests Toy Story 4‘s global record of $240.9M from June. It also blows away the $242M projection Nancy and I were seeing earlier this week. As we mentioned on Friday, Disney flew past the $3 billion mark stateside over the weekend with $3.067B to date. It’s the third time that Disney has made industry figure with that number and they’ll feasibly beat their $3.09B record this year. With Fox, they currently count $3.5B. Watch them crack past $4 billion from both studios’ product after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens.
