MEGHAN MARKLE, 36, is now Prince Harry’s fiancee. But who are the Suits actor’s parents? Prince Harry met Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Radlan, at the Invictus Games on Sunday. Her father Thomas Markle is a cinematographer. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement yesterday at 10am via a statement posted on Clarence House's Twitter account. The statement read: "His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.” Harry's fellow royals poured in to give their congratulations to the couple on their Twitter accounts, included the Queen and Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla and Kate Middleton and Prince William. At 2pm yesterday Meghan and Harry emerged from Kensington Palace to show off Meghan's engagement ring, which was a huge diamond from Botswana.

http://instagram.com/p/Btq45YklD46 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going bananas over wedding planning! The couple, who announced their engagement last week, are said to want a wedding cake made from bananas, a source told The Telegraph. And the reason why has a romantic twist. http://instagram.com/p/BtW4a5GFTdV In addition to Harry reportedly loving “anything with banana,” the fruit has also played a cheeky role in their relationship. Just hours after their budding romance was confirmed in late October of last year, the former Suits actress posted a cryptic image of two cuddling bananas on her Instagram. Alongside the quirky romantic photo, she added the caption, “Sleep tight xx.”

http://instagram.com/p/Bs3lN_hldLo Harry and Meghan’s decision to go with a banana cake is a departure from the norm. Traditionally, the top tier of British wedding cake is a fruit cake, because it lasts long enough to be served at the christening of the couple’s first child. But they’re not the first royal couple to go their own way when it comes to their wedding day menu. Prince William’s groom’s cake was made of chocolate biscuits. He and Kate Middleton also served a traditional eight-tiered cake served at their reception at Buckingham Palace.

Meghan Markle will be a “beacon” for the royal family and a “role model” for women, Idris Elba has said. Speaking before a Buckingham Palace dinner to celebrate The Prince's Trust, the Wire actor was asked about black or mixed race role models and whether Markle’s upcoming marriage to Prince Harry would help aspiring young people. http://instagram.com/p/BsqavsQlbZc "Meghan Markle, as a person, regardless of her colour, is a role model," he said. "As a strong woman marrying into our royal family, she's going to be a role model for any woman - black, white. "The point is that of course our society is one of mixed heritage and it's nice to see Meghan within the royal family. "It's great. And of course she's going to be a beacon and of course she's going to be someone that people look towards."
