Meghan Markle made a stylish return to the royal event circuit. The Duchess of Sussex just arrived at the launch event for her Smart Works capsule collection that will benefit her patronage. Meghan chose to wear a white blouse from the collection (by Misha Nonoo), a Ralph Lauren belt, black trousers (by Jigsaw), and brown heels. She accessorized with Princess Diana's bracelet and butterfly earrings, pieces she has worn before. Ahead of the event, the SussexRoyal Instagram shared photos from the shoot for the Smart Set line and a quote from Meghan. "Since moving to the UK, it has been deeply important to me to meet with communities and organizations on the ground doing meaningful work and to try to do whatever I can to help them amplify their impact," the Duchess said. "It was just last September that we launched the ‘Together’ cookbook with the women of the Hubb Kitchen in Grenfell. Today, a year later, I am excited to celebrate the launch of another initiative of women supporting women, and communities working together for the greater good. Thank you to the four brands [Jigsaw, Marks & Spencer, Misha Nonoo, and John Lewis and Partners] who came together in supporting Smart Works on this special project—placing purpose over profit and community over competition. In convening several companies rather than one, we’ve demonstrated how we can work collectively to empower each other—another layer to this communal success story, that I am so proud to be a part of.”

Meghan Markle stepped out with a smile for her first public appearance since her and Prince Harry's personal ITV documentary.
The Duchess of Sussex arrived solo to London's Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 22 to support the opening ceremony of the 2019 One Young World Summit, where she was on hand as Vice President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust. Meghan's outing comes on the heels of her and Harry having opened up to ITV's Tom Bradby about the challenges they've faced in the royal spotlight.

Samantha Markle, the Duchess of Sussex’ half-sister, is reportedly at the centre of an investigation launched by US police, where she lives. The probe was confirmed by an officer working on the case for Polk County Sheriff Department, Florida. They told the Sunday People: “There have been multiple reports of allegations of cyber-bullying made. “Samantha Markle is aware of this allegation. “She has not been arrested. “This is an ongoing case and I cannot speculate on a timeline yet or make any other comment.” The complaints come from several countries including Canada and the US, according to one source reported in the Sunday People.

When it comes down to it, the main reason that Markle hasn’t yet become an official British citizen is the fact that it takes a tremendous amount of time. There are actually numerous rules that govern when and how a person can become a British citizen, even if that person marries a royal.
Some of these rules concern the family visa, which Markle had to get before she could apply for citizenship. This is the kind of visa someone gets when they are going to marry a British citizen, which they must do within 6 months of receiving it.
Luckily, both that six-month requirement and the expectation that her spouse makes at least $20,000 a year were pretty easy for the wife of a royal to meet. However, even once one gets the family visa, they have to be living in the country for five years before they are eligible to apply for permanent citizenship.
At this point, Markle has likely satisfied all the other requirements of citizenship, so she simply has to wait out this five-year requirement.
Couldn’t Markle get some kind of special treatment? Not according to the BBC, who reported that when it comes to the citizenship question, Markle expects to be treated like anyone else hoping to become a permanent Brit.
When asked about it, Prince Henry’s communications secretary Jason Knauf told the press that Markle plans to “[comply] with immigration authorities at all times” and that she will be going through the same process everyone else does, even if that means it will take a number of years for her to achieve citizenship.
Some of the other qualifications Markle is required to meet before she is granted citizenship include passing an English language test, passing a test with questions related to life in the U.K., and paying the £1,282 citizenship fee.
She will also have been required to submit artifacts and evidence (like email records and holiday photos) proving that her relationship with her husband is a real one.
Given the public nature of their marriage (and the fact they have a kid together), this last one should be the easiest requirement of all.

Meghan Markle has a very personal connection to one of the charities highlighted on her Instagram page this month. The St. Felix Centre, a charity focused on helping vulnerable members of Toronto’s community, was chosen as one of the 12 organizations Meghan and Prince Harry will follow on social media this month in an effort to bring attention to charities that help those most in need. To celebrate, the St. Felix Centre shared a never-before-seen photo of the Duchess of Sussex volunteering in their kitchen. In the undated snap, Meghan is seen posing with other volunteers. She kept things very casual for her visit, opting for a jacket over a striped shirt with a baseball cap. They even added an arrow and heart to point out the royal! The charity shared that Meghan was an “active supporter and volunteer” with them while she lived in Toronto, where she filmed her show Suits. “She volunteered on a regular basis in our kitchen as part of our Community Meals Program,” they captioned the shot. “The Duchess also donated food from the set of Suits, and on one Thanksgiving she brought in all the food, turkeys and the fixings for over 100 people.”
