Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn keep their relationship pretty private, but every once in a while we're lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the couple out and about. On Jan. 12, the Evermore singer and her boyfriend made a rare public appearance as they took a stroll around London with Joe's mom. The outing is already sweet as can be, but can we talk about their cute matching boots? In a quintessentially British move, Taylor and Joe opted for black Hunter rain boots as they wandered about town. Taylor also wore a wool Stella McCartney coat which appears to be the same outerwear from her Folklore film on Disney+. Who wouldn't want to wear that coat over and over? Taylor completed the outfit with jeans, a pom-pom beanie, a fabric face mask, and gloves — perfect for holding hands with Joe! The actor kept things casual in a puffer coat, jeans, his own face mask, and a beanie. If you're in the mood to match with Taylor and Joe, you can find the same tall pair of Hunters for $150. Happy shopping!

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, Hulu and BBC Three confirmed the cast for its TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's 2017 novel, Conversations With Friends. This marks Alwyn's latest foray into television as he previously starred as Bob Cratchit in the 2019 mini-series, A Christmas Carol, and is slated to appear in the highly anticipated remake of Brideshead Revisited. On this casting news, Alwyn wrote on Instagram, "'Conversations With Friends' is one of my favourite books of the last few years. I'm so grateful and excited to be invited onboard, and to get to work with this amazingly talented group of people." Alwyn's girlfriend, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, subtly supported this announcement by liking it on Instagram. The pair, who began dating in 2016, prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. In addition to Alwyn, who has been cast as Nick, the upcoming series will star newcomer Alison Oliver as Frances, Sasha Lane as Bobbi and Jemima Kirke as Melissa. According to the recent announcement, production will begin in Dublin, Belfast and other locations this year. For those unfamiliar with the plot, Hulu and BBC Three offered up the following description: "Conversations with Friends follows Frances, a 21-year-old college student, as she navigates a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time. Frances is observant, cerebral and sharp. Her ex-girlfriend, now best friend, Bobbi is self-assured, outspoken and compelling. Though they broke up three years ago, Frances and Bobbi are virtually inseparable and perform spoken word poetry together in Dublin. It's at one of their shows that they meet Melissa, an older writer, who is fascinated by the pair. Bobbi and Frances start to spend time with Melissa and her husband, Nick, a handsome but reserved actor. While Melissa and Bobbi flirt with each other openly, Nick and Frances embark on an intense secret affair that is surprising to them both. Soon the affair begins to test the bond between Frances and Bobbi, forcing Frances to reconsider her sense of self, and the friendship she holds so dear."

Not only did Joe Alwyn recently collaborate with Taylor Swift on multiple songs for folklore and evermore, but she's now revealing he also played a pivotal role in inspiring her song "Only the Young," too. Swift debuted the political track in 2020 for the documentary about her life, Miss Americana, though she wrote the song in 2018 following the U.S. midterm election. Now that the film is a contender in the 2021 Oscars race, she's sharing new details about how the British actor (also her boyfriend of four years) encouraged her to speak out about politics and ultimately write the song. "As a country musician, I was always told it's better to stay out of [politics]," Swift told Vanity Fair via email on Feb. 17. "The Trump presidency forced me to lean in and educate myself." She continued, "I found myself talking about government and the presidency and policy with my boyfriend [Joe Alwyn], who supported me in speaking out. I started talking to my family and friends about politics and learning as much as I could about where I stand." The "willow" singer added, "I'm proud to have moved past fear and self-doubt, and to endorse and support leadership that moves us beyond this divisive, heartbreaking moment in time." After a career of staying out of politics, the Grammy winner broke her silence in October 2018 to endorse Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and Congressional candidate Jim Cooper in Tennessee. "I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent," Swift wrote at the time, adding that she feels "very differently" about keeping quiet on governmental issues going forward. During the 2020 election, she endorsed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris by sharing her debate night cookies on Instagram. In her new interview with Vanity Fair, the 31-year-old pop star elaborated on how finding her voice in 2018 led her to write "Only the Young" when Republican congresswoman Marsha Blackburn won, despite the singer's plea to voters.

Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift have been dating since several months before media reports confirmed they were together in May 2017. They’ve kept their relationship fairly private over the years, but Alwyn was a collaborator on Swift's surprise 2020 albums, folklore and evermore. He even picked up a (late) Grammy for his work on folklore.
It’s safe to say these two are very together, and a source tells Entertainment Tonight, big things are reportedly ahead for the longtime couple.
“They grew closer than ever during the quarantine and she really trusts him,” the source says and said they “are so in love.”
“They’ve been continuing to be pretty low-key about their relationship to the outside world to continue to protect it.” The source added: “They’ve discussed future plans and Taylor can see herself marrying Joe one day.”
Speculation over the couple's marriage plans has been brewing for several years. In 2019, a source told Us Weekly that “Joe wants to marry her and she wants to marry him. He’s just waiting to find the perfect time to propose. He wants to make it unforgettable and extremely special.”
The source added: “Taylor’s friends are all talking about a proposal and how she really wants to marry Joe,” says the insider. “He’s her dream guy.”
During quarantine, Swift and Alwyn have been splitting their time between their respective home countries, the U.S. and U.K.
E! reported in January that “she is back and forth between Nashville and England spending time with her family and with Joe’s family. They take walks in the neighborhood and go on hikes to get fresh air.”
