For years, Taylor Swift was known as an over-sharer: The pop star's lyrics, interviews and paparazzi snaps endlessly focused on her high-profile relationships, from Harry Styles to John Mayer to Jake Gyllenhaal. Swift, 29, and English actor Joe Alwyn began quietly dating sometime in 2016, but the public had no idea about their romance until May 2017. That was the first indication that Swift was approaching this relationship much differently than those of her past, and new reports confirm she's very pleased with her decision. “She’s much happier without her personal life out in the open,” according to Us Weekly. “She credits Joe for that and realizes how much better off she is.” English actor Alwyn was born in London, where he and Swift now spend much of their time. The two reportedly often head out to local pubs and are "very low-key and normal."

Taylor Swift jetted to Ireland for Christmas this year, with her British boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Goss.ie can exclusively reveal that the songstress rented out Glin Castle in Limerick for two weeks over Christmas, before leaving on St. Stephen’s Day. A local source told us: “Before Taylor’s arrival, staff at Glin Castle had to sign a non disclosure agreement, to protect her identity during their stay.” “She was also spotted at the local pub O’Shaughnessy’s, but it’s pretty old-fashioned so not many people there knew who she was. “Taylor and Joe kept a low profile, but seemed to really enjoy themselves as they explored the Irish countryside,” they added.

Taylor Swift was spotted holding hands and walking arm-in-arm with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn on Sunday as the pair walked through the streets of New York City. The duo later grabbed lunch with The Favourite actor’s brothers Thomas and Patrick Alwyn. During their cold weather outing, the “Delicate” singer, 29, wore a cozy burnt orange coat, which she paired with purple pants, a multi-colored scarf, a pair of black boots and a black hat. Swift also carried a black cross-body Yves Saint Laurent purse. Alwyn, 27, opted for a waist-length blue coat with a pair of blue pants, grey sneakers and a black cap.

Swift made a surprise appearance at the Golden Globes last night, and although she and boyfriend Joe Alwyn didn't bless the world by walking the red carpet together, they were apparently very flirty inside the ceremony. Sources told Us Weekly that, “While Taylor presented, Joe watched the teleprompter near him and smiled and [his The Favourite costar] Nicholas Hoult patted him on the back. After Gaga walked on stage, Joe shifted his gaze to the stage near Taylor.” "She was smiling at him while she walked off the stage. She looked over her shoulder and gave a sassy cute little smile at his table’s direction,” the source said. How sweet!!!

Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is gaining attention after the two attended the Golden Globes Awards together. But how much do we really know about Joe Alwyn? Joseph Matthew Alwyn was born in London on February 21, 1991. He’s a tall young man at 6 feet, one inch. Joe received a degree in English literature at the University of Bristol, which has its roots in the Merchant Venturers’ Technical Society, founded in 1595, and then studied at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, from which he graduated in 2015. Alwyn’s mother, Elizabeth, is an author and columnist with a psychoanalytic psychotherapist degree. His father, Richard, is a documentary filmmaker. The family tree also includes a great grandfather who was a composer, music teacher, and conductor. Joe’s great uncle was a political activist in support of nuclear disarmament. In 2016, Alwyn auditioned for, and got, the part of Billy Lynn in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. The American accent he used in the film was so spot on that Steve Martin, who played opposite Joe, did not know Alwyn was British until the two were well into production. Joe’s other films include: The Sense of an Ending – a 2017 British film Operation Finale – post-production Boy Erased – plays the frightening role of Henry Harriet – post-production
