Cara Delevingne says she was “terrified” to be playing a leading role based on murdered British student Meredith Kercher but soon “found out I could act". Speaking to the Standard at the premiere of The Face of an Angel, the model told how she formed a “family” with her co-stars to overcome her fears. The BBC movie is inspired by the 2007 murder of Kercher and the subsequent high-profile trial of American Amanda Knox, who has threatened to sue the film’s makers.
Delevingne plays vivacious student Melanie, who meets a director in Italy making a film adapted from a book written by a journalist about a high-profile murder of a young British woman, with the suspects being her American flatmate and Italian lover. The movie, which takes the story but changes the location and names, also stars Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Brühl and is directed by London filmmaker Michael Winterbottom.
At Saturday night’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival she told the Standard: “It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I learnt so much just because I found out alot about myself. “I found out that I could act, that I could do it confidently and not be nervous and die because usually I think I’m going to die doing things that scare me! I went in so terrified and nervous but I got so much good advice from Michael and Daniel. We just made a family.”
Speaking of the case she added: “The amount of coverage it got is crazy. I followed it. who didn’t? But I don’t like to make opinions unless I know about something.” It is based on the book Angel Face by CNN journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau after 21-year-old student Kercher, from Coulsdon, was found half-naked with her throat slit in the cottage she shared with Knox in the hilltop university town of Perugia.

With a host of movie roles on the horizon, Cara Delevingne is living the life she always wanted and is ready to be unfiltered and unguarded as never before. “Trust me,” Cara Delevingne says, once we’ve settled into a Toronto bar so dark, so thronged, that even this instantly recognizable young person dissolves into the shifting masses. “I can find fun anywhere.” I do trust her. Grinning and conspiratorial, all kinetic limbs and generous laughter, possessed of a demeanor that suggests that she has both seen it all and seen nothing at all, she slips so readily into familiarity that it’s hard to imagine we’ve never met before. She’d like to know everything about me, which is hardly the point; but it’s the point with Cara. “I love figuring out a stranger, sitting down and learning about their loves and struggles and everything,” she says. “People are my jam.” She’s here shooting DC’s secrecy-shrouded Suicide Squad, due next summer, and Rihanna and her other famous besties are nowhere to be found. But that’s OK, because the leash is tight. “I’m not allowed to drink. I’m not allowed good food,” she says. “After turning 20 and eating McDonald’s all the time and drinking too much, it started to show on my stomach and on my face. But I’m playing a homicidal , so I need to look ripped.” I ask her if her body has become her temple, and she laughs. “I always chuckle at that saying. I say my body is a roller coaster. Enjoy the ride.” “But can you believe that?” she goes on. “That I have to exercise restraint after I’ve succeeded in a business where for years I had no restraint, where the whole point was excess?” Cara wants to make one thing very clear tonight: Modeling was an amuse-bouche, an hors d’oeuvre, never the main dish. Acting is and always was the thing: “The thrill of acting is making a character real. Modeling is the opposite of real. It’s being fake in front of the camera.” The food sent down from David Chang’s restaurant upstairs is so spicy that for intervals we can do little more than smile at each other and pant happily. Cara is wearing the skinniest suit imaginable, from the Kooples, and a pair of Chanel trainers. She tugs a cube of meat off a skewer with her teeth, offering the wink-and-grin-and-head-tilt that her thirteen million Instagram followers (that’s almost twice as many as Lady Gaga has) would recognize instantly—a selfie counterpoint to the iterative steely glamour of her fashion billboards. As Paper Towns’s director, Jake Schreier, tells me later, “What picture can the paparazzi get that Cara hasn’t already gotten? That’s what I call taking control of your image.”

Cara Delevingne met Swift at the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Like a lot of Swift's model friends, Cara Delevingne and Swift seemed to link up after Swift performed at the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Soon after they were often spotted hanging out in New York City. Delevingne was another of the friends to appear in the "Bad Blood" music video. Delevingne is now acting more than modeling, and it's unclear if they've stayed in touch. Since meeting Swift, Delevingne has mostly transitioned from modeling to acting. She played Enchantress in "Suicide Squad" and starred in "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." Swift and Delevingne have not been spotted together in a couple years and fans pointed out that the model wasn't name-checked on Swift's "shirt" in the "Look What You Made Me Do" video, so their friendship status is unclear.

This is some messy love triangle! Halsey is reportedly secretly "hooking up" with supermodel Cara Delevingne months after her ex, rapper G-Eazy began dating the runway queen's former flame, "Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson. Yep, we told you it was messy! According to The Sun, the "You Should Be Sad" singer and the British model are keeping it casual with their new romance. “Cara has been hooking up with Halsey in the last few weeks and they’ve been having a laugh together," the outlet's insider revealed. “It’s all very casual and just a bit of fun. Neither of them are particularly keen to be tied down and they’re fine about seeing other people," the source added. "They’ve both been very open about their sexuality and just want to enjoy themselves so they’re both on the same wavelength." While they've been photographed at events together before, and Cara was featured in Halsey's "Nightmare" music video, it appears Coronavirus helped them push the boundaries of their friendship. "They’re usually so busy and flying around the world, but as they’ve been stuck in LA in recent months, it’s given them a chance to see each other," the insider told The Sun. http://instagram.com/p/CEotQ8IAaYH
