http://instagram.com/p/BtJzYAZAAio After Naomi Osaka took to Instagram to share her thank you messages for her maiden Australian Open title, Andy Murray was one of many to comment. The 21-year-old’s lengthy list of thank you's included a lot of people, but not the Scot, even though the pair practiced together in Brisbane in preparation for the Australian Open. http://instagram.com/p/Br4iwvBgTni “Disappointed not to be mentioned in this post after our hit in Brisbane but congrats anyway,” Murray commented. Osaka responded with: "my bad.” Of course, Murray’s mother Judy shared their back and forth on Twitter, where it picked up even more attention.

Naomi Osaka commented on her admiration for the Williams sisters. The Japanese faced Serena twice, defeating her both times at the 2018 Miami Open and US Open final. Asked who she likes the most, Osaka replied: "I'm kind of more of a Serena person. I mean, I like super love Venus, too, but Serena was, like, my No. 1. Like, the most -- one of the things I remember with Serena playing Heather Watson, and I was screaming at my TV, like, Come on, Serena, you can do it. But, like, Venus, too, I remember like when me and my sister used to train, like, at public courts and stuff, random people would be, like, Are you the next Venus and Serena? I feel like they had a great role in us growing up. I always wanted to be Serena." Asked if she thinks that she can become the next Serena or Venus, Osaka replied: "I don't think anyone can become the next Serena and Venus. I feel like they're, like, legends, you know. I don't think it's possible with the way tennis is now. I just feel like I want to do the best that I can and hopefully that's enough." Osaka also spoke about her big fanbase both in Japan and all over the world: "I'm really grateful for it. Like, I'm the type of person that gets more pumped if there is people cheering for me, so I feel like that's a positive for me. And also, I think if there is a lot of fans, then, like, the energy both me and my opponent would get, like, our levels would go up. So I think, like, in a whole, it's a really positive thing."

“Hey everyone, I will no longer be working together with Sascha. I thank him for his work and wish him all the best in the future,” the 21-year-old athlete wrote. Osaka won back-to-back Grand Slam tournaments, including defeating Serena Williams in a last year’s memorable US Open final. This was followed up by another victory over Czech player Petra Kvitová in the 2019 Australian Open final last month – all under the guidance of her coach, Bajin. “Winning back-to-back Grand Slam tournaments is a rare and special achievement, and I’m thrilled these results have propelled Naomi to the top of the women’s game,” said American tennis player, Chris Evert, the first to become Women’s Tennis Association world number 1, according to AsiaOne. “Her exciting brand of tennis, coupled with the dignity she displays on and off court, is a winning combination that tennis fans really embrace.”

World number one Naomi Osaka said she would rather surround herself with "people that I really like" after splitting with coach Sascha Bajin.
Osaka announced last week that she was ending a partnership that had yielded two grand slam titles and seen her climb to the top of the rankings.
And the 21-year-old revealed it was a decision that had been coming since the Australian Open, where she overcame Petra Kvitova in the final.
"I think during the Australian Open, I was just trying to tell myself to get through it," Osaka said. "I'm not sure, but I think you guys noticed.
"Everyone thinks it was a money-related issue, but it wasn't. For me, that's one of the most hurtful things I've ever heard. I travel with everyone on my team, I see them more than my family. I would never do that to them.
"I'm not going to say anything bad about him because, of course, I'm really grateful for all the things that he's done. I wouldn't come here and say anything bad.
